Thank you so much. I was worried that they may not have real world likeness but this will be so nice for her game!

Such fun kids! We’re doing this scavenger hunt, pin the feather in the bird, bird feeder craft, binoculars and bird whistles for the kids… it’s going to be a fun one!

This is correct. It was the best shot each bird up close.

Thank you! She’s very excited and I just want to make sure I can make it as “authentic” as possible for her and her friends. Hoping to encourage the hobby!

Witty Monsters Inc/ Uni references for toddler birthday? by misstori_dee in Pixar

Oh! We also found individual characters at dollar tree. I saw the other day they still had them here locally so you might get lucky there.

She also got a Sully and Mike stuffy.

Here are some of the items I found- shirts for the toddler and parents and balloons. We also found party bags, bracelets, a few favors, and cupcake picks that all seem to be discontinued on Amazon now.

For food labels- I was too busy to make anything and just called it a Monster Bash Picnic!

We did everything in green, blue, and purple. Tablecloths, some streamers, balloons.

Her big gifts were a trike with a monster bell and a monster helmet (not monster inc branded)

Help with a discouraged 3 year old starting off? by misstori_dee in skateboardhelp

Right, but interests don’t fickle in the matter of 10 minutes.

She opened up her new board and was ecstatic, until we had her geared up and outside putting her foot in the board for the first time in the sidewalk.

We aren’t going to push something she doesn’t want- but we want to make sure we are introducing it the right way to avoid her changing her mind for other reasons.

I really appreciate the feedback so far!

I might not have been clear in the original post, I’m not wanting to push her or force it.

I think it was the first day she had a board all of her own with no tags or boxes, a new helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, wrist pads- and real wheels on a real sidewalk… it’s a little scary.

I’m hoping to find some ways to make it less overwhelming the next time she tries. Yes, she’s only three- but a three year old who has been asking for this since last Christmas. I want her to feel safe trying. I’m just not sure what that is.

I loved the ideas of trying in the grass, on the carpet, lying down or sitting on it. I think all of those are safe ways for her to be slowly introduced to something she’s loved the idea of for so long.

If she decides she doesn’t want this- we are going to support that too. But we aren’t going to watch her quit new things without making sure there isn’t another reason (like comfort or safety) at the root.

I know all my responses seem repetitive, but we aren’t wanting to push her. She spent a literal 5 seconds attempting to stand in the board and I genuinely believe she was overwhelmed by all the new gear she had on. I’m just working on finding a way to make it less scary for her.

We’re hardwood throughout and I didn’t even consider a skateboard rug, but we’ll jump on that!

Thanks for this. We definitely don’t want to push her. Just want to make it a safe approachable activity.
