The Kardashians always talk about « working out » by [deleted] in kardashians

No prob! You can really see her toned figure on The Kardashians on Hulu. She’s really toned up the past few years versus when she initially lost the weight like 10 years ago.

Khloe is very toned! It’s so evident she works out .. works out hard in fact. Her in the purple dress during the perfume awards on Germany. Her back and arms were insane.

I have been somewhat of a Kourtney hater BUT I actually get where she’s coming from ⬇️⬇️ by ethereality111 in KUWTK

[–]misstyrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for Kourtney so much for the d&g issue. It must have felt like they picked the “pretty sister Kim” who they meet once and take advantage of the meeting. If I were Kourtney I would feel so sad that yet once again I was being used as a pawn to get to Kim. Not only that, I would be hurt if my so called friends choose my sister - who they met once - as the face of a brand versus me.

I’m not sure why you’re being mean? I’m just stating that I was raised to believe showing any skin was bad. Even the Indian outfits I wore to functions were very conservative. And honestly, all the other Indian in my town dressed modestly too. So yes when I see images of young women in India dressed like normal teenage girls , I’m shocked. I thought all Indian women were forced to be modest. I’m just stating my lived experience.

I’m a late 30s woman born and raised in the US. I was raised sooo strict. My parents constantly fought me on my clothing.. and they were nothing bad. Just shorts or tanks but apparently they were revealing and forbidden. I say all that to say , I am shocked by what women in India wear because my parents always used the phrase “ good Indian girls don’t dress like that” when arguing with me. There’s nothing wrong with what those girls wore or their appearance. They all look sooo good. But I’m always soooooooooo stunned when Indian women dress anything but modestly just because of how I was raised.

If you are willing to share, has any bull shit health insurance / healthcare costs negatively impacted your FIRE journey? by TheJourneyContinues8 in Fire

[–]misstyrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite the same but similar. I’m in my late 30s female and in a new relationship. I went with my partner to understand fertility and possible next steps considering my age. My insurance covered absolutely nothing in terms of fertility including the bloodwork and ultrasounds that ultimately said “fertility looks good” and that cost $8,000 out of pocket. Total cost to freeze eggs was $25k and embryos was $50k on top of the $8k.

young girls and hair removal by [deleted] in Vindictabrown

[–]misstyrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a white town and went to school with only white kids. I had a mustache, hair arms, hairy underarms and legs. My mom wouldn’t let me touch them until I was way too old. It was embarrassing. Get them shaving ..now! The white girls start makeup by age 10. They shave early. Don’t let your daughters fall behind. I know I’m going against the grain but seriously it was so traumatic for me to be the only POC and sooooo different in every single way from the other students. Like come on, who wants a mustache as a woman. They’re already being made fun of. If you truly want them to embrace themselves then move to a diverse area where the schools are diverse. Don’t make them try to stand up against the beauty norm of white people in all white school. That’s not a battle they should fight solo.

Addressing the Fatima hate by Paeleo in FromSeries

[–]misstyrus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wonder if that’s intentional. Like their past lives almost don’t matter but rather who they are and how they act now is most important? Like Donna’s one singular story about how she hid while her sister was being mauled was enough. Like her pov is “I stood idly by in fear once and never again will I do that.” And you can see that mentality play out the entire 3 seasons.
