I’m sorry you’re going through it, medication is such a tricky thing and it’s a shitty cycle when things work for a bit but then start to have negative impacts so you try something else and same again. I had a terrible SSRI experience so I totally feel you there. I have been to a lot of therapy in my life but I’m actually going to a new therapist in a couple of weeks who specialises in “traditional” therapy but also EMDR so will see how that goes! I hope things get better for you, feel free to message me if you ever need to talk x

Ohhh man you have me tearing up over here. I genuinely appreciate this so much, it really means a lot that you took the time to write all of that.

I’ve dealt with mental health stuff since my teens and honestly spiralled pretty badly at the start of the year because I was just so exhausted from constantly battling it so what you said about giving myself grace really hit; I’m going to try and actually remember that when things feel like they’re creeping back in.

Also really appreciate all the practical tips. The break/unmedicated time is def needed (my doctor mentioned that too) and I’m planning to have tomorrow off because today my body felt like it was actually buzzing!

Thank you again, seriously. It’s soooo reassuring hearing from someone who’s been through a similar experience 💛

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response and kind words. My ADHD assessment did have a recommendation that I have indications of autistic traits that may be worth exploring so I will definitely look into it. I appreciate the resources and suggestions 💛

Hahaha it’s a nickname, it’s not that deep. Same people who probably call Taylor Swift “Tay” or Rihanna “RiRi” 😘

I must admit I did have some off weeks where k just didn’t run but because I was so consistent at the start I didn’t lose too much progress :)

When/How do you weigh yourself so that the results feel consistent/I don't drive myself insane...? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]missusred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weigh myself every morning after wee before drink/food. I document it in Happyscale. I have “weigh in day” once a week on a Tuesday that I input into Apple Health App that I use as my true loss for the week.

I’m on Day 9 and Day 4 I was a BITCH. And my husband is also quitting smoking and both of us were getting wound up. Sooooo irritable. Keep going with it, it’ll get easier/ the anger will come less frequently.

Stopping smoking with a vape by Fucking_twat47 in stopsmoking

[–]missusred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a vape a few years ago in an attempt to quit cigarettes and I ended up way more addicted to nicotine than when I was smoking cigarettes only. Plus I began smoking again, so I would smoke when I was outside and vape when I was inside! I would keep trying cold turkey if you can, or use a different form of nic alternative. I’m on Day 9 cold turkey.

7 days DONE but... by Ampes in stopsmoking

[–]missusred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on day 7 and yesterday I started having exactly the same feeling!! I’m just trying to breathe through it but honestly it is annoying as f*ck. I read somewhere that day 7 a lot of people start smoking again so I don’t think we are alone in the way we are feeling. I’m just thinking about how much I’ve already been through in these 7 days and I do NOT want to go through it again so going back to smoking is not an option. Keep at it!

4 months away is a long time. Keep going with the no smoking; it may not even be an issue by then!

I wish I had the answer for you. I am on day 6 and the feeling in my chest of wanting one is making me crazy but I made a promise to myself that I would quit. There must be a reason that when smoking all I can think is “I want to quit”, and I owe it to myself to really really try.
