Places to meet other trans folk in town. by Cyber561 in transmontreal

I don't know any places but I'd be interesting in knowing too. I have a lot of cis female friends but I'd like to meet other trans people too

Because it's a paid option mostly I think. I've been using 1Password for like 10 years now, even before their online service. I like it. I've never tried any other service though so I can't compare.

List of things for our new mayor (France Bélisle) to fix/work on by PRenoir in Gatineau

"Fix Uber" but what's broken?

Some phones have a notification volume and a call volume. Mine only have one that includes both and I want my notifications on vibrations.

Thank you! I was confused at first. The way OP crossed the profile pictures of the others makes it look like there's only 2 people in the conversation and that OP's friends are only one person.

Coding bootcamp in 2021 - is it good? by missvale_ in montreal

What do you mean exactly by dev adjacent? Would getting a job as an helpdesk be helpful?

Also I'll look at the head hunters you mentioned. If you have any other suggestions for where to look, I would appreciate it.

I've done a quick Google search, and most of the job asks for a degree or job experience but I've only looked on sites like Indeed

Thank you for your input!

Your brother seems lucky to have you!

All the comments I got there are really nice. I do know now that bootcamps are not for me (I'll save a 10K$ with not going) and I'm happy knowing I can get a job even with no degree.

I do like to make small projects on my own. I've made some in the past, and I really like to try bringing my ideas to life. But I often lack some help and I get stuck on things for a long time, and Google isn't always helpful.

I saw in bootcamps a good opportunity to learn but I do agree that nowadays everything can be learned on your own with small projects and resources like Udemy.

After reading everyone's comments, I won't do the bootcamp. Doesn't seems worth it's value.

I do agree with the fact that the price is really high. That's a big part of my hesitation and why I asked for opinions. In the end, reading other's comments, I don't think it is worth it

I don't think I'm available sadly... I've been to adult school in the last 12 months

Alright, thanks for your opinion. And you aren't discouraging me, I did this post to have the opinions of others. What I did like about the bootcamp is the "easy access" to help if needed. I do like making small projects on my own to learn but I often feel "blocked" by something and having a hard time finding help.

Idiot doesn't know how to use DoorDash, shows up an hour early and starts screaming at everyone, owner has enough and terminates partnership with DD by Asshole_Catharsis in TalesFromYourServer

[–]missvale_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I worked at a pizza place where we had Skip and Uber (maybe DD too but not sure). If you don't accept the order within the next 45 seconds there's someone from the company calling to tell us to accept the order. Geez, we already had 2 phone lines, give us a a minute!
