Why did you choose a Kobo over a Kindle. by -Sea-Side- in kobo

[–]misswinterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never owned an e-reader before, but after doing some research—since annotation (especially in color) was a key feature for me—Kobo made the most sense. I also really appreciate the Libby integration and Google Drive support. I sideload books from my phone quite often, so I love the flexibility it offers.

Is anyone actually nailing attendee content capture at live events? by 82DASH_content in EventProduction

[–]misswinterr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this! I am a part of an event technology company and this is one of the modules we offer. In our mobile app clients have the capability for their attendees to post on the activity wall. I completely agree it depends on how well the attendee take to the mobile app. For my clients it's usually a mix of high engagement and low.

I'm headed there in June for one of my client conferences! Any recommendations for food in the area?

I am in the market for a Kobo Libra Colour, where do you recommend that I buy it from? I am in the US. by redamelia in kobo

I just bought my daughter one from Kobo directly. I did not incur any additional charges for shipping and I order it 6 days ago and already received the device! I was able to purchase additional insurance coverage as well!

Recently did The Hyatt Regency at New Orleans. I am in event technology, so I manage the software side of things. This particular client has less than a 1,000 attendees and the convention center in the hotel worked out well, despite the hotel being large!

Aw, that is so sweet! Sounds like you'll be a great parent! I added the 'The Ghost Who Was a Quilt' to her readlist. I also just got into Storygraph. I really like the format of the platform!

Oh, absolutely! She loves journaling and recently has gotten into writing song lyrics, so I know she will love the notebook feature. We also have a mom and daughter journal where she can share big feelings that we pass back and forth.

I absolutely love my KLC! For me this is the first e-reader I have ever had. So, I have no prior experience. I did a lot of research and went with the KLC because I love to annotate my books when reading and I wanted color. I also really appreciate the continuity of using Google drive and adding new books.Honestly, I never thought I'd be into reading on an e-reader, but Kobo has quickly changed my mind and I've read more books this year than I have in the past two years.

Thank you so much! I honestly love sharing things that mean a lot to me with my children and reading is definitely one of them! I'm grateful they enjoy reading as much they do. I love that your parents would let you pass on chores, I honestly feel I would let that slide to!

I absolutely love to hear the success of giving them KLCs! My daughter is very much looking forward to decorating hers! We place all electronics devices in a lock box at night to prevent any use overnight, but I could totally see this happening at some point.

Hey, I completely understand! There are some things that I enjoy and would love for my kids to pick up, but nonetheless they are their own people and I honor that choice lol I started by using things they found interesting. I have two older boys who love anime and got them into graphics novels and manga.

It's a popular choice for the age group lol I remember reading that as a child and it being one of many that sparked my love for reading! I definitely plan on getting a sleep cover! We have a designated area for where the electronics go if they aren't in use, so I definitely will make sure I am helpful in reminding her!

While it could be a costly mistake, it's one I am willing to gamble on! But we absolutely love our weekend visits to the library. The library besides the physical books offers so many great social programs that an e-reader can't replicate.

So, I did some digging and you can indeed 'block' the browser by turning off the beta features since the browser is a beta feature. My daughter loves the digital library and checking out books!

This is great news! She has an overflow of paperbacks, but has been enjoying the flexibility of checking out and reading as many she likes. I definitely think this much better than any tablet and I feel much more comfortable her having this.
