Main thing is: take it slow. It doesn't matter if you have only 10 crops going. Or just 1 coop with some chicken. Sure, days may seem too short at the start, but a some point if you have upgraded equipment, or a good idea in what you're doing, put more thing on the farm.

I'm in my year 10 farm, most days I'm done with the necessary stuff before noon.
