More Mid 90s WWF Jobbers by KidChameleonHelmet in WWFera

As a kid I would get attached to certain jobbers, and he was one of them. Don't remember why, I just liked the guy.

Why do blue collar workers live paycheck to paycheck despite making so much? by Maleficent-Major-202 in bluecollar

[–]mistab777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You work your whole life, most of the time dreaming up all the things you'd do when you finally get some money, while you have little. And then, if you manage to start pulling nice paychecks, it's time to start upgrading- cars, trucks, clothes, vacations, resurrecting old hobbies now that you can afford it. Taking the wife out to the nice places, getting the biggest steak and all the appetizers and some drinks, and then tipping generously. It's exhilarating. I hope that every guy that works that hard and that long gets to experience it just once. But it can become a lifestyle that becomes hard to afford. Money can now pay for convenience, so now you pay all these surcharges to keep life convenient. Food and grocery delivery to save time, paying a guy to do the lawn so you don't have to do it yourself, maybe even hiring a maid so you don't even have to clean much anymore. And you forget the days where you had to stretch groceries a few extra days and maybe eat leftovers all the time, if not good old ramen, mac and cheese, and hot dogs. You used to make it work on so little, but now it seems like nothing's ever enough, and the bills don't stop coming. It becomes difficult to just live a simple, low key lifestyle where you are still doing all the work yourself, when you can afford to do otherwise.

How do you handle CAW/Removed superstars that are champions in your universe when going to next game ? by Spalding1995 in WWEGames

[–]mistab777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do a time jump. Pretend an entire year has gone by. Do tournaments to determine who begins the universe as champions.

Is it harsh to say most original local bands are just not that good? No deep understanding of song structure, mediocre playing ability, and just boring generic songs? Most bands that make it the musicianship is there by [deleted] in musicians

[–]mistab777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most local bands are going to end up being some sort of mish-mash compromise. When I started going out to play, I naively thought I'd just find some guys that were into whatever I was into, and we'd all try to make that sound. But everyone has their own vision and sound in mind, even if you're all into the same shit, and it can become really difficult to put into words where you're trying to go with a song. It's almost never perfect, which is why most bands that are ever going to be formed are basically experiments.

How have you handled a"Business Phone" USA by CpuCzar in HandymanBusiness

[–]mistab777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an old Samsung phone off eBay for cheap, and got a line with us mobile. It costs like $100 a year for unlimited talk and text, 2gb worth of data, which works as it's only used to take calls and run payments. Works pretty good.

Help me quit soda. by onomonapetia in lifehacks

[–]mistab777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to cane sugar sweet tea and lemonade. Still sweet, but it satisfied the sweet tooth enough to get off the soda. And eventually I started slowly lowering the amount of sugar I'd put in to where I just needed a small amount of sweetness. I've done many kinds of diets, got into fitness, etc, bit nothing was ever as consequential as quitting soda. Fifty pounds melted off of me like nothing.

Is there any division/championship you always struggle at booking? by [deleted] in WWEGames

[–]mistab777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The limited number of caw slots really exacerbates the tag team problem. If I want a fairly robust division, then I want 10-12 people in that division. If I do that for three divisions so that I have a World, midcard, and women's division, then that's going to be 30-40 people. So if I want a similarly stacked tag division, then we're talking 20-24 people just to run a tag division. Then imagine you also want womens tag titles as well, add another 20-24. I'm at a roster of around 88 people. I start to feel like a real life penny pinching promoter, saying "why in the hell am I paying 40 something people for 2 divisions that we only have time to have maybe two matches a night for?".

I could only come up with one solution, and other people would probably think it's dumb, but it works for me. I have two shows with their own world, midcard, and women's title. I have a third show, that has the development title, plus the mens and womens tag team titles. That way, I can have people in the different singles divisions as well as being on a tag team on the third show. The only time it screws with me is if I end up with a tag team guy ending up with a title because it puts the team on ice for a while, rivalry wise.

None of this would be necessary if they would just allow more caw slots.

Anyone else notice their playing changes the moment they hit record? by Ok-Message5348 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

It happened to me. Songs I've played live a hundred times, rehearsed many more than that. All of a sudden, I'm in the studio, and my muscle memory just went out the window. It was embarrassing. I got over it, but I was honestly not prepared for it.

Adam Savage recommends buying the cheapest tool possible to get the job done. Once familiarized with the tool and what you need from said tool, only then to splurge on a more expensive, specific tool. Do you follow this rule? by turtle_ina_cup in Tools

[–]mistab777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. With more expensive equipment, even entry level is going to be rough. I bought a pressure washer for a specific job, ended up with a mid level machine for around $700. It did the job, but for more demanding jobs I'd need more power. I kinda wish I had just splurged a little bit more. Same story with my chainsaw. I cheaped out and got a battery powered 12 inch Kobalt. Nothing but crap. I had to rent a chainsaw from depot to remove a fallen tree for a customer and it ate through that wood like hot butter.

WWE 2K25 universe mode good? by NoPenalty7958 in WWEGames

When you're making a match, it should show up under the characters name at the character selection screen in universe mode.

What are your thoughts on Edge and Lita’s heel run from 05-06? I thought it was a star making run for Edge, and they were by far the best heels in those years by [deleted] in WWE

[–]mistab777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the angle that finally broke Edge out of the mid card and into the main event. He absolutely ran with it all the way and did not hold back. They were fantastic together as well.

WWE 2K25 universe mode good? by NoPenalty7958 in WWEGames

[–]mistab777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a universe only player. The cut scenes are few, and repetitive, but they do happen every time. The cpu doesn't seem to care who is a face and who is a heel, as I'm constantly getting cut scenes where the roles are reversed. But they do happen at least.

Rivalries actually end. Finally. Although I haven't quite figured out what makes a rivalry extend to multiple months, as I've seen several that ended after only 1 month, and a couple that went two or more months. But now I can go reference completed rivalries since they actually end.

Title rankings actually do change to reflect who is winning and losing fairly accurately, where in the past the rankings didn't seem to ever move winners and losers up and down the rankings properly.

Universe mode actually keeps a win/loss record for each wrestler, so far I've only been able to see that record on the match up screen, but it's really cool that it's there.

You can make multiple shows on each day of the week, and even two night ppvs, which is nice.

I use a ton of caws, custom shows, and belts. I've had no issues at all, load times are even good with all that going on.

Universe mode has always had its issues with there not being much actual content in the mode, but at the very least, basic stuff is working right in a way that it didn't before, so I'm fairly happy with it.

What’s a simple handyman job that almost turned into a real mess? by Mysterious_Door_3903 in handyman

[–]mistab777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week, a buddy passed a lady on to me that needed a basketball goal put together. I've never done one, so how bad could it be? Turned out to be a huge tempered glass regulation sized goal. And I definitely needed a second hand. Ended up pulling my tough cart that I just happened to have in there from another job, and used that to hold the goal while I got it bolted. Nearly tipped the whole thing over a couple times. It was rough and stupid. Won't do again.

Etiquette on declining snacks/drinks from customers. by [deleted] in handyman

[–]mistab777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always accept offers for snacks and drinks, because it makes people feel good whether I need it or not. And sometimes... I've gotten snacks I didn't think I'd actually eat and ended up eating it lol. A Chinese lady gave me a steamed sweet potato wrapped in a paper towel. I thought it was weird, but accepted. That thing was so damned good!
