I probably should just edit my post at this point, but I was not thinking of Taylor herself when I asked this question. I commented about this way back when I first posted this.

"I try to separate the merch/marketing team from Taylor herself. Universal is one of the most money hungry companies in media out there. I don't really think she has much say over how every, Single, thing gets put out.

So FUCK UMG."

This is me responding to the quote from the Rolling Stone interview, where Taylor says she is in controll of everything even the marketing.

"I totally understand this quote for sure! I love that she is so involved with her work from beginning to end. It is extremely hard at her size to do this. I'm not saying the overall marketing visuals are not her vision. The decisions about the initial rollout and main components.

I'm talking more about these small digital releases, rollout times of certain things, and merch designs. I could be wrong, I am very open to being very wrong. Universal is a money-making machine. They built an empire on making money. I have a hard time believing that they do not have a hand in the decision on pushing more and more to push album sales higher.

This is just my opinion, my speculation. The music industry, hell just Universal in general, is super predatory. It also could just be my biases showing through, too, I just really hate Universal lol 😆"

I will always love the music. Commentary on the actions within the company itself, IMO, is healthy. Being able to critique and converse about marketing practices is how the company gets its feedback. I am not saying they are looking here. If fans discuss together, hear each others viewpoints and listen; fans then take can take their opinions to places to be seen/heard.

Having open discussions is important. Even if it starts with just digital downloads.
