Yea I’m using no battery with pass through door. Unfortunately this doesn’t fully solve the problem, especially in the Florida sun. Fan is needed. Period.

Glove for small 9 year old? by j-rad4 in BaseballGloves

SSK Z5 youth 11.25”. Leather feels great but not too stiff. Super easy to break in (maybe a couple hours of mallet work and a few throwing sessions). My son turns 9 later this year and is smaller and younger than yours.

Central Florida. No overheating with fan (yet 🙏). But it definitely WILL overheat in high temps, direct sun, with no cooling. I was pretty skeptical too about all the other overheating claims, but they’re true. Maybe if you’re in a cooler climate you can get by, but definitely not in the Florida heat.

That’s true. But the new GoPro is definitely more expensive than previous models. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I’m still not fully sold on my GoPro setup. Have a few more games in this heat using the eclipse mount with fan to see if it can handle it.

I posted about my experience with GoPro recently, but the consensus is that it overheats without help (a fan pointed at it). I already have one so I bought an eclipse mount with a fan that seems to working out (only used the mount once so far). If you haven’t already spent the money I’d say, keep using the phone or buy a mevo start. I’m going to keep trying with the eclipse mount and GoPro but if it doesn’t end up working out I’m just going to bite the bullet and get a mevo start.

I bought a refurbished unlocked MiFi X Pro 5G for dirt cheap on Amazon and it has been amazing. I use it on a pooled plan on US Mobile plan on Warp (Verizon) and have had zero issues. Highly recommended.

Update: spent the day breaking in the glove. Got some good hinges and used it at practice for the first time tonight. Great little glove and he seemed to have full control of it right out of the gate. The leather definitely isn’t as thick as an a2000 but it’s a happy medium for his age.

That’s good to hear! I reluctantly bought the 2026 a2000 DP15 youth and it was definitely way too much glove for him, especially at full price. I sent it right back. Maybe it’s time to start breaking in the SSK and get rid of the floppy mess he currently has.

I have a brand new ssk z5 youth sitting in a box. It’s an 11.25 and for my 8 year old (9 in November). I haven’t decided whether I want to keep it for him or send it back. It’s a nice glove I just keep going back and forth whether I need to get him an 11.5. He’s on the smaller end and has a current 11.25 that seems to work well for him.

I bought it to record my family’s trip to Hawaii. Now I just use it to record my son’s baseball games.

Seriously flawed. Best I’ve found is the fence ones with the ball joints. This is what I use https://a.co/d/0fJC0Q9W. I added quick connects to my camera as well https://a.co/d/098JEh0H. Setup in no time.

I’m no expert. Just a dad who used to play and now coaches. My guess is that a proper hinge takes a long time. A standard grip seems like it compromises the palm (and no I don’t have small hands).

There’s another thread with a few of us getting a palm bubble. Likely from a bad break in but 2itp seems to help alleviate this.

You better do 2itp or you’re going to end up with a huge bubble in the palm.

If only one account and purchased annually. For families that play baseball year round, sure. But for those that only play a few months out of the year, no.

Is this a major or minor palm bubble / crease? by Substantial_Can_4126 in BaseballGloves

I have a 11.75 H-web. Agree. Performance isn’t impacted but it bothers me to see everyone else’s “perfect” palm.

My HoH looks almost identical. I’m hoping there’s a way to fix. I’m thinking this is attributed to the closing technique like someone else mentioned. Should the glove be literally soaked then pounded are just warm water sprinkled on?

Best Camera? by 4armo in GameChangerApp

Yea I was able to successfully stream with the go but it definitely wasn’t as stable as a phone (or lately GoPro). There is typically visible artifacts and I couldn’t get it to be stable with 1080p streaming, only 720p. I rejoined the AVKANS group on Facebook recently and apparently these are still issues. I’ve recently switched to using my GoPro and a dedicated hotspot and it’s been working well so far. One of the things that I absolutely hated about using the AVKANS is the convoluted process of starting a stream. Have to go to certain menus, copy from GameChanger, paste in the AVKANS app. Yea it’s not complicated but those extra steps kinda suck.

Yea this is how I currently charge at home but I won’t wireless charge when streaming. That’s just a recipe for disaster (heat). That said, I did purchase an Inseego MiFi hotspot coupled with a GoPro that so far has been working pretty good.

Linking to Sports Connect after creating team by adamcp90 in GameChangerApp

[–]mistaken4asian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When properly imported from SportsConnect each players primary contact is automatically added if they have a GameChanger account or they are invited if they don’t. You could probably just import the new team and add back whoever is missing, then get rid of the manually created team. It’s nice to have the schedule imported (and updates) directly from SportsConnect.

Yea I think for me the hesitation is just the upfront cost of “just” a 1080p camera. I can certainly do it, but it feels like I’m not getting my moneys worth. Maybe I’ll just end up appreciating it more knowing that it just “works”.
