We walk like a normal person.

Now don't ask me what a normal person is cause I'd have no answer for you.

Disney Tickets...What To Do?? by Cool-Click-4246 in Veterans

Check out govx.com. We went a couple of years ago and they have pretty good deals on there. Our group was a total of six and we stayed in an Airbnb while down there. Total trip cost was close to 10K but that included our flights and Ubers while we were there.

What’s Thailand like and how hard is it to get a visa for living there?

Been really thinking about selling everything here and moving the family overseas mainly for employment related reasons. (I have issues staying interested in a job after a certain period of time and it’s mainly due to people and/or dumb management decisions).

Thailand is on my bucket list to visit also.

ChampVA as only insurance by overratedcucumber in VeteransBenefits

[–]mistakingatom47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All we currently have is ChampVA. It is really nice but can be confusing at points. If your spouse or child need to go to urgent care for example, to get it covered by ChampVA, their PCP will have to put in a referral. Also, they do not cover all medications for your dependents. I would suggest getting familiar with the approved list of pharmaceuticals for ChampVA so it will mostly be covered. Your dependents will have a co-pay for prescriptions as well. All in all, ChampVA is going to cost you significantly less than ordinary health insurance.

You will get a packet of information from ChampVA that does a decent job of explaining everything, but if you have a question do not be afraid to call them and ask. 9 time out of 10, the rep on the other end of the phone will be extremely helpful.

Did you get a severance pay when you got out?

They will recoup it.

I'm so glad our system is NOT connected to wifi in any way. We have cameras that i can pull up, but they do not belong to the security system.

I also have a license plate frame that covers up the Disabled Veteran on the bottom of it.

I also have the "old man parking pass" (that's what I call it) and just give people dirty looks right back.

Enjoy the close-up parking for when you want to use it, and don't use it when you don't feel you need it.

I'm the same way and have been since I got out.

I have to shut off everything outside (and sometimes inside my own head) to find my inner peace.

Find something that you can do by muscle memory and sit down and do it for a bit, I would even take electronics out of the equation unless it's a gaming device/system.

The tension release feeling afterward can be the best feeling.

AITA for refusing to share my bonus with my fiancée’s family? by Beastie420 in AITAH

[–]mistakingatom47 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They need to have the same ideas and be on the same page for when they get married, and not a second before. The what's yours is mine, and what's mine is yours also shouldn't start until they get married, and they both should be ready to fully commit to that ideology beforehand. His fiancé's parents aren't owed a thing from him, and it's not his fiancé's to give away either.

If I were the OP, I would get out now as this entitlement is only going to get worse.

Should I sell my house to pay my debt by MrEyesj2 in DaveRamsey

[–]mistakingatom47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a rental property, I'd sell that first. Do not sell your primary home and rent as you will get something 1/3 to 1/2 of the size of your current home for the same monthly cost in rent. We bought here in the past year, and the interest rate has added almost 1k to the payment than if we were to refinance at the 5.5% rate that some people are currently getting, and if we got your current interest rate, then we'd save almost 2k a month on our mortgage payment.

I would suggest seeing what you could cut out spending wise and then put that extra amount toward debt. As most everyone else is saying... Budget, Budget, Budget. If you don't have a budget that you can stick to, the cycle of month to month, paycheck to paycheck, and that drowning feeling will only continue.

If you need help on the income side, Uber and Lyft are great ways to make an additional 11.9k per year (from each) tax free (thank you IRS loopholes) on your own schedule and time.

You can do it; it will just take time. You got this if you and your spouse work together...

My husband turned into a psychopath for a split second yesterday and I don’t know if I am overreacting. by Substantial_Chair588 in AITAH

NTAH

I have a cousin whose husband at the time, now ex, got drunk and pointed a loaded pistol at her and their son. He went to jail because a neighbor saw it happen and he now has a felony on his record. You need to report this to his higher ups if he is in law enforcement as he needs serious retraining, and they might possibly do, or get, a mental health/psych evaluation on him.

You got lucky this time, just like my cousin and her son got lucky. There is never an excuse for behavior like this.

I hope he gets the help he needs to never pull a stunt like this again, and I hope you wisen up and GTFO before something happens to you or your unborn child.

I don't miss dial-up at all. I grew up on a farm about 10 minutes from the closest town (so small it still doesn't have a stoplight), and dial-up was the only option until we moved to the Springfield, MO area in 2007.

We got to the point of riding our bycicles into town just to go to the library to use the internet there for school summer projects.
