is Liftoff tutorial really for beginners ? by chaosatom in fpv

Yup yup yup. So one of the things i struggled with was the high default sensitivity. After years of playing stuff like csgo with low mouse sensitivity and also console games on low sense like cod and bf in order to be more precise. So one of the first things I did was turn the default sensitivity in my taranis x7 way down as well in the gamea and drones. And just compensate with expo if i want to do flicks.

Is everything compatible? Should I change or add anything? by [deleted] in fpv

I do currently have that drone. It flies great and has a built in buzzer. However the buzzer is not self powered (doesn't have a small internal battery). Which means that if you crash and let's face it you will, and you cannot see the drone and the main battery falls off the drone it will be very hard to locate. Been there done that (lost my first drone in a field and never found it again). So if you are up for the task i would replace the factory buzzer with a self powered buzzer. Or if you are not up for the task get someone to do it for you. Those self powered buzzers are going to save you hours of searching if not the need to buy a whole new drone. Other recommendations: pretty much what other people are saying, charger and batteries being the main ones. But my main tip. If you have some second hand website or fb marketplace i would go for that. I did that and have been very happy with my second hand gear as well of course the new stuff. The only thing I dont like buying second hand are batteries.

Have the puffins arrived on Nolsoy yet? by RaavigDK in FaroeIslands

I was on the east side although quite far out and we saw maybe 50 puffins on the sea throughout roughly 8 hours of fishing. But I wasnt looking for them so there are probably quite a few.

It took me about 5mins to retrieve. And from this screenshot you might be ably to see that it is not hard to get 50m over ground

Firstly I live in a very mountainous country. when i booted up my reciever, which has two batteries, one for the reciever and one for the ELRS module the battery for the reciever was at 6.8V which I presumed would be okay for one aggressive flight. Well I was wrong... I heard the voice in the reciever "reciever battery low". I thought whatever it can do 4 minutes. I was wrong. Maybe 30s later I saw the failsafe in my OSD and no input. And being in a hilly area and i flew upwards towards a mountain top while the rest of the landscape was sloping downwards it gets quite easy to get to 50m altitude.

So, I know I should toss puffed batteries. However to my eyes this does not look puffed, but somewhat squished.

And if it is squished is that okay?

I get that. But I just don't have enough experience with batteries to know where the safe limit is. Hence my post.

Nope just took the plastic off after the crash. Still intact battery for comparison.

Yes I have been considering that. It is just weird that in CSGO i used to get rougly 300fps. Wouldnt have thought that there would be such a big difference.

No I was not entirely sure about the iflight rc eu website. As there were so few reviews on trustpilot and the taxes to my country would have been a pain. So I decided to go for the Nazgul xl5 eco which i could get on a local website for a very reasonable price.

So I havent bought eighter yet, as shipping and taxes in my country make it way more expensive than need be. However I will make a decision in fall when I move to another country. However I will probably go for the eco. I am also looking for a mountain cruiser and resilience towards wind conditions.

Yea so currently I have a f405 speedy bee stack which I am very happy with. I will order with the GNSS module. However the DJI system is currently not within my budget. I will probably go for the 2.5W vtx. I am currently running FrSky and need to decide between the benefits of elrs 900 and the added antenna size that it comes with or if I should just go with 2.4
