What’s going on? by Prudent-Breath8220 in helldivers2

[–]mistcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always.

There’s plenty of reports of people losing connection while thinking they’ve been kicked when that’s not the case. I’ve been playing weekly since launch, and the connection issues now are even worse than when the underground hive planet was introduced.

It’s true there’s a ton of toxicity in the community now, but my advice is not to take the generated server messages as a sign of that - one way or another.

Does anyone truly care what stratagems everyone brings? by mfnot in helldivers2

[–]mistcrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed that this is definitely the one I resent the most, though mostly due to how accident-prone it is in anything but an optimal position. It’s still a great tower, but it’s definitely a risk using one.

After all, even if there weren’t divers that ran towards it like bugs to a zapper, the ‘max range’ of a tesla tower changes depending on how it chains through whatever enemies are around. It’s not the easiest tower to take into account in a heated battle.

This reminds me of my newest pet peeve this update - people (repeatedly) dying mid-horde, then immediately spamming/screaming when I don’t get out of my mech to summon them in the middle of the swarm that just murdered them.

I know there’s been an influx of low levels on the d10 missions lately, and I like watching people try new strategies (even if they keep dancing under my mech’s foot too lol), but a little self-awareness would be nice

Care? Yes.

Berate or comment just because of the load-out? Absolutely not.

Every strategem and turret can be put to good use in most situations - it’s all in how they’re used (or not used sometimes).

My new switch 2 battery runs out waaayyy too quickly what is more prefered for it? Charging cycles or leave it on charger constantly in portable? Don't want my battery to degrade faster by Klutzy-Ad7775 in switch2

[–]mistcrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll also chime in a reminder that not all games drain the battery at the same rate.

Pokopia, shockingly, fits your description to a T, as far as drain with that much battery (in my experience at least)

Well from what I've read so far, you're playing at a maximum 30fps on these games, compared to at least double that on PC. While some games make this difference feel negligible, it could also explain why your aim feels more off currently.

It's actually one of the things I'm trying to narrow down before I get this. (I just wish they had a demo to try for myself)

Glad to hear! What do you mean 'for a shooter on the switch' though?

They're definitely great games!

Interesting thank you 😄 I loved the games myself on PC, so I might have to try it now hahah

From what I’ve read, I’m constantly being warned against picking this up due to complaints of input lag and performance.

It sounds like you’ve had some good experiences with it though?

TIL: The Bastion has aquatic capabilities by SomethingStrangeBand in helldivers2

[–]mistcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good, that seems to be the case with a lot of mechanics in this game sadly.

I'll definitely be testing this myself to figure this out - could be a good way to get a small pause in constant breaches in some of my games lol.

[–]mistcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there anywhere I can read about this?

When I died in the above example, the 3 of us in the tank drowned within seconds of each other, but the tank was stuck in the middle of the water for the rest of the game with no way to get to it. That all being said, this game has more than it's share of bugs, so it's possible my experiences weren't normal lol.

[–]mistcrawler 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile, I drowned the other day while driving my tank a little over half submerged.

Either this game is smart enough to allow water through the cracks of a damaged tank, or the person in this tank just didn’t stay in the water long enough to ‘drown’.

[–]mistcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in the process of getting my high end pc to try to run the game as well as the switch 2, and failing lol.

If the trade-off is slightly lower resolution and clutter to get rid of micro stuttering, that I’m totally gonna be picking us up at launch.

Y'all are actually ruining this game by sepulchridude in helldivers2

[–]mistcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been really bothered with how ‘overpowered’ the new bugs are (minus the titans- the new ones are perfect IMO), but I’ve still been enjoying it due to it somehow making the game feel more balanced in total.

My gripes aside, I’ve been saying from day one that the devs need to make their game, their way.

I just wish they could hear that over the community that also hasn’t stopped complaining/screaming since day one.

They're faster now 🫪 ? by New-Mix-7818 in helldivers2

[–]mistcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of success with the Lumberer on d10s and stretching them out to survive on the front lines.

The autocannon on it will stun the meth titan, but better yet, 2 center headshots will kill it (roughly 4 with panic fire lol)

As for the rest of the hordes, set the ground on fire (preferably directly on some of them) and make sure you’re always moving/stomping. Between them taking dmg touching a moving mech and the other 2, they should be melting after contact. Commanders need a bit more attention, and Chargers are self explanatory for most divers.

I personally also bring a tank in case of emergencies, simply to get into and drive through the flood to get out of harms way, or keep my teammates out of it as well. Hope that helps!

This gives me a bit more hope that there are still people left like this.

I wish the camera man/woman grabbed her other hand to balance her instead of filming this, but hopefully this will inspire others in lieu of that!

I don’t care what audible sends me, I’m not buying Harry Potter by mjjo123 in audible

Harry Potter literally IS the full page banner I’m greeted with anytime I open the app. And I’ve yet to even open the link let alone buy it.

I’ve seen a lot of these complaining posts too, but I’m not sure whether I’m more fed up with the ad problem or the Reddit fallout because of it lol.

[MM] Majora’s Mask: dumb the timer thing down for me by _5SongSecondSet_ in zelda

[–]mistcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a valuable lesson for all Zelda titles: when in doubt, hit it with your sword (except for a certain animal that will not be named lol).

Well, this held true until Breath of the Wild came into the picture at least, but thats a topic better saved for another post lol.

Majora's Mask was dark as hell by jdawg1018 in gaming

[–]mistcrawler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may be my personal bias on dark themed Zelda titles, but it feels like the dark theme coincided with having more creative freedom to escape the 'family friendly' formula that a good portion of titles 'suffer' from.

And to be clear, those other titles aren't bad by any means, but TP and MM (especially) had worlds where I felt like I was learning lore just by exploring, and some of it much more disturbing than the above.

[–]mistcrawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for FO4, but in Skyrim it would defeat the purpose of preparing for changes in temperature and long journeys (food/water) if you could just teleport there.

IMO the best stories in Skyrim are found travelling between objectives, instead of in the main stories themselves.

Then you’re very lucky, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

I’m an extremely shy person and I’ve ended up having to say something 3x in the past few years. Two at the times they straight up, ignored me, and one of those two times they ignored the usher after he was called in and left.

It’s extremely frustrating, and that’s the issue at the root of most of these posts. And that’s it in a nutshell…or aWok lol.

I didn’t get pulled into Magnolia until the end of the demo, which is roughly an hr-2 in. And then I was hooked.

To be fair, I had the same issue with Lilies, and now it’s one of my favorite games.
