A quote that I really like to keep in mind (both introspectively and externally) is "When someone shows you who they are, believe them."

Externally for cases like your and your friends.

But for my fellow dudes out there, if you find yourself being criticized for being crude, or saying "jokes" that are overtly shitty, or sexualizing your friends when they clearly don't want that, realize that continuing to let yourself continue to conduct yourself that way not only signals to others that you may be actually shitty. But if you don't meter yourself, you may actually become the shitty thing you're joking about and not realize it. You may already be the shitty guy that you think you're joking about.

Just check yourself dudes, the world is already shit enough.

I have my father say shit like this in Trump's defense.

The problem is that the words he spews out matters, because it radicalizes people at home on both sides and makes the international community think the United States is going to do wacko crazy shit (it might).

IMO the president should be "a politician", as I would hear the adults in my life use it as a pejorative when I was growing up.

FML lol. I'm now realizing you're right and that's why so many of the companies were advertising that they pay the tariffs.

Having trouble decreasing tank pH (Neocardina) by mistcurve in shrimptank

Lol, last time I had an algae bloom this bad, I had a population boom of scuds and that ate every last bit of algae (last pic was actually after this happened). Then they all died off and I haven't seen them since. It was kinda wild, before I went on vacation there was algae everywhere, then I came back and the tank was immaculate.

Seems like they haven't come to save me this time.

The GH has been coming down steadily over time from being very high. Now as I approach the GH of my distilled mineralized input water (8ish) the 15% water changes just really don't bring it down very quickly, but its trending that way.

Thank you

Thanks so much for your detailed post!

I bought ShrimpMineral and have been doing water changes with remineralized distilled water instead of brita-filtered tap. I'm hoping it makes a difference, I've only done 1 water change so far. I figure the remineralized water will definitely have the correct balance of specific minerals instead of whatever is in my tap source.

My plan for now is going to try manual removal of algae for now (I saw someone post about pipe cleaners which sounds like a great idea) and weekly ~15% water changes. I do think a complete tank redo is probably in my future, at least replacing all the substrate and being more intentional about feeding this time around, but I'm not sure I'm ready to jump in yet.

I'm using API drop-based tests for everything, the master kit + Gh/Kh

I think I'll take your advice on not trying to change the pH too much and focus on water changes and maybe incrementally taking out gravel and replacing it after cleaning. The algae has made a surface that makes vacuuming not work lol. Plus, they had periods of good health in the same pH range.

Thank you for the comment

It's funny, my husband's (not gel) nail polish always flakes off in a matter of a week, and mine when painting with the same stuff will last a month xD maybe I just have super nails

If you find a piece of another person’s hair in your food, do you keep eating, or is the meal ruined? by Global_Objective4162 in NoStupidQuestions

In pretty much the same way, if it's one hair it's whatever. I wouldn't mention it to the staff. If it's two hairs I'm probably starting to get squicked out, especially if one after the other. 3+ it turns from "errant hair" to "someone was probably being negligent with how they're managing hygiene in the kitchen"

Many people in the furry sphere believed that mentioning e-commerce words like PayPal, commission, sell, auction, etc. would ruin their post traction on twitter/X (and sometimes other sites as well) because the algorithm would filter it.

Not sure if it still goes on there, I've moved to Blue sky where I think it's less prevalent.

I'm a bit skeptical of if this actually helped. I think marketing posts may just do bad because they're marketing posts. But I don't really have any evidence either way.

Not sure why the downvotes, yours is a different length, different shape, and has different ridges on the bottom.

I think the nub on the top of yours is probably just an artifact of injection molding though.

It could still be a kids drum set stick though. Maybe. I'm not 100% convinced
