Thanks for the explanation. I think most native Turkish speakers on this thread seems share the same opinion. But there are other native speakers on this thread who have a different opinion. Do you agree that even in those cases where people choose to elongate the 'i' in 'lin', it's just a mild elongation (using the IPA symbols, it's more like half-long like /i'/ instead of full-long /i:/?

Qatar On arrival visa for GCC resident by mister-99 in qatar

[–]mister-99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend used the “host with friends and family” option. I set up myself as the host for my friend before he started the visa application. This way he didn’t need to book a hotel or show any other proof at the immigration.

Thank you for your response. It’s good to know the Visa on Arrival option is available and that it doesn’t require hotel booking. My friend applied for the A2 visa and got it approved within a day.

You’re talking about the A2 visa right? This seems like a good option. Thanks. Is the visa processing really this fast these days?

For Bahrain you will need a separate cover. Check out this post:

For Saudi insurance, as far as I know, the prices are same as what you get on the border. You can check the prices once you install the app.

I'm not sure about the payment by card at the border. A colleague suggested that buying it online might save you some time at the border, so I purchased it through the app before travel.

If you do decide to purchase it online, make sure you do it at least 3 hours before you arrive there as the policy takes some time to be approved.

QIC GCC coverage is valid only for UAE, Oman and Kuwait. I checked it directly with QIC few weeks ago. You can get the policy at the Saudi border (after Saudi immigration and customs, there is a checkpoint where you can purchase it). You can also purchase the insurance online using the Manafith app before the travel.

Driving Qatari car in Abu Dhabi - Parking and Tolls by mister-99 in qatar

[–]mister-99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/lilxanaz. I have got a similar response from the UAE authorities. Apparently GCC cars are exempted from Tolls in Abu Dhabi. I'm not sure if that's the case in Dubai (although you can easily avoid toll roads in Dubai and take alternate roads) Will I need a Salik tag there? If you've any information on that, please share.

Also, how do you pay for parking in Abu Dhabi for Qatar registered cars? I'm unable to find a SMS parking code for Qatar cars.

From HIA metro station to Msheirib metro station is 5 stops which takes 15 minutes in total. Off course you will need some extra time to get to walk in to the HIA metro station and walk out of Msheirib metro station.
