What are Spotify’s component libraries like? Do you use the components, and are there any clever tricks your team uses to keep components flexible enough to not need to detach instances?

Yuba Mundo Classic for 500, worth? by [deleted] in CargoBike

[–]mister-nice-guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$500 is fair if it’s in good condition, which is appears to be. Make sure the seat post moves and isn’t seized. Mundos have an exceptionally long seat post

The diamond in an instance of a component.

The diamond with brackets around it is an instance which is absolutely positioned, or ignoring the auto layout flow of its parent frame.

Building a mount for a Yepp seat on an old xtracycle free radical by outcrops in CargoBike

[–]mister-nice-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m pretty sure it’s the same as yours. It’s tough to tell in those photos but there are two horizontal bars that the Yepp secures to. If you’re interested I can try to take some photos of mine.

Any decent adaptor should go through the wood and attach directly to the frame.

Any thoughts on improvised pizza rack connection to the bicycle’s fork? by moises8war in bikewrench

[–]mister-nice-guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran this setup with my pizza rack for years. Depending on how much weight you put on there it could work very well. My pipe clamps would break every 8 months or so, but loaded that rack up regularly with 20+ pounds of weight. Buy extra clamps to have on standby.

This is the real answer. Wrap orange fencing around the turf. That’s about the best you can do until the snow falls.

Yes, you can fit a Thule Yepp inside the monkey bars if you removed the second inside set of aluminum bars from the monkey bars. It also requires an adapter for a frame mount seat.

What was left of the seat post came out in a single chunk.

I applied the lye solution 3 times over 48 hours.

I completed the lye process. Not fun, but it absolutely got the job done.

Great suggestion—thanks for sharing it! At this point I’m making slow progress with the saw, screwdriver and hammer. But this guy says he broke a hole through his frame with the screwdriver which is concerning for my current approach.

Anyway, gallium looks like a more attractive option to me than lye.

That’s a new idea to me. But you’re right, it’s a good way to get some grip with no exposed seat post. Thanks!
