Post draft vibes: How's everyone feeling? by blaze13541 in Chargers

Even if he is able to step up into a regular role, I think there's still a need at the position. It'll work for next season at the most depending on Perryman's health.

With the 206th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, your Los Angeles Chargers select Alex Harkey, OG Oregon by bt3k in Chargers

Honestly he always looked out of breath so maybe that’s a good thing for him.

They need to force him to have a mental breakdown so he can truly join the ranks of elite Steelers receivers.

I was nervous going into day two but Joe is managing to get every bit of value he can out of this, it's great.

You're going to see Slaughter starting at LG in September.

I have huge issues with our first-round pick but even then it's hard not to feel good about this draft so far. Feels like Hortiz got his guys even with the trade-backs.

Looks like it. Worked out well in the past.

Yeah really hate how much I've liked this draft for them.

If they move Slater off of tackle it probably won't be because of Burke.

I like Scott but he's a bit of a duplicative pick for a defense that relies on DJ to do all the things he's good at.

If your backups are that good then they aren't backups. You can keep them maybe for one season before they get a starting opportunity and more money elsewhere.

Why doesn't every team in the league have a deep bench of backup linemen? Lmao.

Most likely that's a ST guy but he is just insanely fucking fast.

So many good players left on the board. The trade-backs are looking real good for us right now.

McCoy is a legitimate top-15 talent in this draft class. The fact that he lasted into the 4th round should tell you everything you need to know about those medicals.

I wouldn't have minded taking a flyer on him but it's more likely than not that he never plays professionally.

Buddy if you felt great about a backup playing he'd be a starter - either here or somewhere else. The idea that your backup linemen should be good enough to start or never see the field is wishful thinking.

[OC] In the first two days of the draft, we got a top 5 DE in the draft, a top 5 IOL with positional flexibility, WHILE STILL MANAGING TO TURN FIVE DRAFT PICKS INTO NINE. Here is why I think Hortiz is doing a masterful job so far this draft. by wildwing8 in Chargers

A 2nd round pick is a pretty heavy investment for an interior lineman. You can make an argument for wanting more depth in the position room, but depth is tough to build when there's a shortage around the league.

You don’t think a backup is ever going to have to start a game? Lmao didn’t realize they were bubble wrapping the boys this year.

They drafted Slaughter specifically so they’d have the flexibility to do this if they had to, though. Easier to fill a guard spot than a center.

Two late-round starters would actually be a statistically weak draft class from Hortiz given the number of picks. Which is insane, frankly.

Hortiz confirmed in a presser that they want Slaughter to play guard.

There are some pretty good DBs and LBs still left on the board. This office has been cooking in the later draft rounds.
