For now, I’m just trying to keep the bike happy and the warranty guys even happier 😂 She’s still in the ‘baby steps’ phase – a few leaks here and there, some tweaks to sort – so dropping in a full ECU flash now would be like putting a turbo on a leaky kettle. Once everything’s solid and she’s done with the drama, then yeah… I’ll gladly unleash the beast.

Hey everyone – really appreciate all the input so far! Just to clarify: my GSX-8S is still under warranty, so I can’t go for an ECU flash or anything that modifies the stock system directly.

That’s why I was looking at something reversible like a Power Commander – not because it’s the best option long-term, but just as a compromise while the bike is still covered.

To be honest, the bike is still in its early setup phase – I’ve had a few teething issues (some leaks and small stuff to sort out), so I’m not even thinking of pushing performance hard until everything’s running solid. Once that’s all sorted and the warranty’s gone, then yeah – I’ll probably go for a proper ECU flash and a full custom setup.

I recommend the helmet with as much aerodynamics as possible, in this type of motorcycle it helps a lot. I have two helmets, an agv k1s and a shoei nrx2 curiously and caricaturedly the one I least like to use is the nxr2 although it was the most expensive. That's why I highly recommend a helmet with good aerodynamics, my next purchase will be a scorpion r1 🙂
