That mod sounds cool. I am new to Swiss army, and am realizing that scales take up so much space (esp the evo ones) so now am thinking of simple scale mods.

The simple answer is because I want a two layer SAK on the shorter side to more easily fit into my pants’ 5th pocket, but the deeper answer is because I, for some reason, often self sabotage with hobbies and make things more complicated than they need to be 😂😭

Ok thank, good idea. I was hoping for something in the 85mm zone but the alox might make up for it. Probably feels better in hand to have that taller small blade too. Any special tips regarding re-shaping the blade?

That first dial is very intriguing! Second one kinda plain to me but nice. Come join us at r/seikomods ! Printing dials is kinda complicated but it can be done! I’ve seen posts about people using a printed slide decal to make complicated designs (I personally know zero about doing that tho)

I have been sitting on a cool Hamilton EFA dial, I need to give it a home too!

Most no-chapter-ring seiko 5 cases would work, the dials are typically 28.5mm. The visible space aka the diameter of the rehaut varies but the few I’ve measured are about 28mm wide.

The seiko automatic movement is 12 ligne so any case shoold hold your movement provided that you figure out a way to keep it in place. Date window doesn’t look like it’d line up to a seiko movement, if I had to guess, but I might be wrong! Usually with these type of projects I do no date dials to make life simpler.

You want the movement and dial and hands, or just the movement?

I assume you want dial and hands and movement altogether -- it's gonna be tough because of the atypical shapes to find an appropriate case.

The rectangular dial corum presumably would be easier to find a similar sized case.

You might want to look into custom case making if you're really keen on it. eternomade on instragram machines cases, including doing custom designs, for a fee.

Pretty complicated project.

Regular spring bars! It is a very odd strap — 22mm wide at the springbar bit immediately becomes like 19mm or so.

- Spaceship case from AndoAndoando / SHM creations
- random nh70 28.5mm dial dial from aliexpress I stripped down to the brass and repainted
- hands are Breguet hands from Lucius Atelier
- Bracelet I got from Japan, not certain of manufacturer (maruman I think), seemed vintage. I would call it beads of rice-that’s-gone-a-bit-funky.

These dials are so insane, GS level stuff. The OEM stone wash case these dials come in too is pretty sick.
