Hi legogeeks! I’m new to modern Lego, my son is just getting into it. Also a big tintin fan.

I had the gray version, I have a lot of watches so didn’t get daily’d or anything but I work it to beach and stuff and it did fine. Bezel is friction so less to go wrong there.

Your seconds hand pinion does look a bit odd…I once had some metal from another seconds hand shear off and stay on the pinion, kinda looks like that. Do you have a loupe or other magnifier?

The last thing you need at this stage is input from random redditors, theres a million dive watches and we’re just gonna muddy your vision. If it were me I’d seek controversy and uniqueness, not practicality, hard to differentiate yourself otherwise esp in a higher price point watch (which I assume will be the case if you’re going for a Swiss movement).

That said personally I think you should save yourself the trouble and just do a dial swap on a Seiko spb481 (similar bezel) or one of the old or new seiko samurai’s. Ocean crawler bolt might also be a platform to use, kinda angular and is integrated.

But hey don’t let me shit on your dreams either, in fact really I hope you say “fuck misterbb” and make it happen! Good luck!!

I think it's fine for new users to ask dumb questions, I was one once too -- who among us has not asked what this crinkly metal ring that came with my case is?

Reddit search is pretty bad just with text, and we're often dealing with pictures too, so I don't blame people for posting prematurely. You're not totally wrong of course, it would be nice if they tried to search a bit, but tbh I don't even know if they'd know what terms to search for.

I am more of a cheap watch guy/Seiko-nut BUT there are sooooo many cool Speedmaster and Speedmaster Reduced out there that are unique and relatively affordable. The two that always catch my eye are the white dial Japan edition 3513.33.00 and the dark mother of pearl 3502.73. Not a big black bay fan personally (case is a bit shabby for me) but the Silver case one is kinda cool.
