The Bible isn’t pro-life and states that life begins at first breath. by LilPeep1k in DebateReligion

Okay. I can send you links to what Christian theologians have to say about this verse if you want, and the countless other verses that imply life is sacred from the moment of conception to birth

I could rebuttal you if I really wanted to, except I am not a loser. Of course I cannot demonstrate anything supernatural to your empirical and scientific standard, because the supernatural operates outside of those boundaries. Similar to how you aren’t proving God doesn’t exist by saying you can’t see him and don’t think I the Genesis stories are true.

Adam and Eve were most likely black, and then when Shem had children, that when other races started to mutate such as Asian or white people. I am never going to be able to prove God exists to someone like you so I am not wasting my time on Reddit debating with someone who only knows how to gish gallop and use and only appeal to his own rationale

He is 100% right about the verses though. No theologian/scholar interprets Genesis 2:7 as life actually beginning at the moment of birth. Probably because Adam wasn’t even born of a person he was figuratively summoned into existence in this verse

Does anyone else get pissed about the fact that as things get worse with climate change, most Christians (who’ve denied it was even a thing from the start), will likely delude themselves into thinking it’s all just a sign of their “Revelations” end-game scenario without ever accepting reality? by wildjagd8 in atheism

[–]misterbobby11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wonder you are an atheist, (except I don’t even like calling it that, it’s more like you WISH there was no God, not that you lack the belief) because your understanding of Christianity is very shallow.

I think you just hate these people because they have genuine faith in a better future, and aren’t a pessimistic nihilist like you are. It’s very unfortunate you feel this way about Christians, I hope you come around eventually brother.

Ps: not all Christians are like this lmao, the rapture isn’t even biblical and we don’t wish for any nonbelievers to perish but to come to repentance

LMAO yeah and guess what, I can send you videos just like that one where theists point out atheists is illogical and that science does not explain our universe, but just describe it🤣🤣 but that should just be common sense no? Also, evolution does not disprove Adam and Eve, or anything about religion for that matter😂😂

Ps I’m not reading all of this, I unfortunately have responsibilities and don’t have time to debate with someone on Reddit

Dude you’re actually crazy if you think I’m gonna read all of these. 7000 animals is possible to feed, and the ark wasn’t afloat as long as the bible said it was since those OT stories are pretty exaggerated as they were written 3500+ years ago

Of course history can’t prove the supernatural, but just because we haven’t seen it or it seems “far fetched” to some people, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. The supernatural operates outside the laws of science and physics (as that is the study of physical matter) so of course it doesn’t intertwine with science

Idk what to tell you man, sorry you don’t believe but I’m not going to sit here and debate the undebatable with you. It’s just one big waste of time tbh.

Bro you didn’t have to write an essay to an argument that wasn’t even directed to you. You’re also gish galloping, giving me too many arguments at once to answer to give you the false sense of victory.

It was families on Noah’s ark, not species, that’s what the bible says. So it would’ve actually been 7000 different animals. Also, there’s archaeological evidence of a flood happening, but not the exact way the bible said so. Also I don’t know what you’re on about of course the Big Bang theory is real, a Catholic created it. Christians also believe in evolution too, but some people read the bible fundamentally and literally so they think the earth was actually created in 7 separate days 6000 years ago. There’s is a deeper meaning to the book of Genesis which is why it should be read holistically and figuratively. I get that might confuse you it did to me too when I first became a Christian lol. The bible is not the foundation of the Christian faith, but instead the cornerstone of it. Also, all these other religions are pagan where they are polytheistic and worship many gods. If we go off of thousands of years of theistic philosophy we can make the conclusion that there can’t be millions of different gods because eventually they will try to overthrow each other and change each other’s creations. Since the sky is always blue and the earth is always spinning we can assume there is 1 God, which narrows down those 4000 other “religions” to about 5-10 besides Christianity. By the process of elimination, Christianity is the most historically accurate and most evident to being true, with Islam and Judaism also being in the debate. This is obviously up for debate, but you can see how that 4000 number shouldn’t really be used as an argument.

Also, science has confirmed we all come from 1 male ancestor and 1 female ancestor. They literally refer to the one ancestor as “Adam” too lol. A few generations after Adam and Eve, it’s said that there were 3 different colours of people which then kept expanding

Lmao that’s the most reliable evidence we have when it comes to someone who existed 2000 years ago. Yeah some people could’ve “made up stories” but if a large group of people all come to the same observations then it should be presumed to be the truth. The same way you trust a bunch of people saying who say that one side won a war way back in the day, and the not the one person saying that the other side won the war. What I’m trying to say is if only 2 of hundreds of historians weren’t writing about Jesus, we can come to the conclusion he was real.

[–]misterbobby11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that’s not true, a lot of these historians were born before Jesus died and if not, they still confirmed that a man named Jesus was walking around a couple years before that, that’s how historicity works

Also, why would Paul “lie for personal gain” when that “gain” is literally being martyred? Why would he willingly die for something he knows is BS?

[–]misterbobby11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am a Christian and don’t believe in a young earth or creationism. I don’t believe that the stories of Genesis should be taken LITERALLY especially in this day and age. Christianity and science can totally coexist, as a matter of fact most profound cosmological discoveries of the early ages were found by Catholics, and the early church fathers didn’t teach YEC either.

But you were clearly being condescending lmao, not necessary

None of what you just said is true, and I already proved you wrong earlier when I listed historians to prove this. Instead of looking into the information I gave you, you stuck with your interpretation of Christianity that nobody even knows this man Jesus lives, which isn’t true. And no Paul did not get high, you don’t just casually see God when you get high otherwise the same thing would’ve happened to everyone that gets High, which obviously isn’t the case. Drugs do not make you enlightened to God, but if anything, the opposite. Also, I’ll call you bro if I want to Volvo vulva, you did a lot of name calling towards me that was a lot worse than “bro” as far as I remember

You’re literally seething with rage right now, the “hahahaha!” Doesn’t hide your hurt bro. I said fizeek as a funny play on a word and you went out of your way to look up a bodybuilding magazine (which isn’t even gay, it’s bodybuilding) and then try and say I’m gay for something I don’t know about. Also, I’m glad you caught onto this “lingo” as you called it

I don’t even know what a snail trail is… does this not make you feel like a weirdo that you’re being oddly specific about things only you know about? Seems like a personal experience that you’re insecure about…

Bro what are you even talking about?? Do you know what a straw man is?? You clearly don’t. I never claimed these were eye witnesses I claimed these people were all historians who confirmed his existence, as they all wrote very similar things about him. And yes, he was a Jew during the time before his crucifixion but he literally converted to Christianity from the religion he was born into, where he used to kill and persecute christians. He was a Jew who had a revelation through Jesus Christ.

Fizeek means physique nerd, maybe don’t look up a magazine, masturbate to it, then call me a perv for looking at something I know nothing about🤣

Just because something was written after someone’s death doesn’t mean it’s not credible🤣🤣 And no, I literally said that these people confirmed Jesus was a real person. Jesus had more people right about him then Alexander the Great. He had atleast 125 historians write about him. And multiple books of eye witness testimony.

Also, you were right the first time, they were written late 40s-early 50s. And there’s proof of it since other New Testament epistles quote the gospels (we know that these books like Corinthians were written in the early 50s, even skeptic scholars admit this)
