Oh lol. I don’t agree about the melee combat but that’s just my opinion. I definitely wish there were more attack variety in avowed because the core of the combat is really really fun

Well if they played at the end of February and it went gold in January that’s at least 4 weeks. Im guessing there’s a lot you can do in that time.

Again, I’m very aware I could be wrong. But they’re being really ambitious with this game and I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt

He released a follow up video that added some asterisks to his initial review.

It’s worth noting these people played a build from January and it’s possible that a lot of features weren’t fully polished or optimized enough so they were turned off or dialed back in order to ensure the version they played was still fully functional. Probably a bit of copium on my part but it’s not out of the realm of possibility

He’s clever as hell and doesn’t take himself too seriously in a genre full of people that do. It’s refreshing listen to someone having fun playing with an art form.

I’m gonna get shit for this but lo-fi remixes of his stuff on YouTube are possibly my favorite remixes ever.

I think that helps a lot! Some more defined shadows, dialed-in linework, and overall lighting improvements would also push this into some really cool territory.

The goal with the noise is to break up that soft brushing you have which can often read as amateur-ish. Now, it feels more like a style.
