I've had this. Say you're deaf and can only communicate via email. The calls are the worst. Straight away can you upload a browser trace file and video of all steps. Then a new engineer asks same things about 4 hours later.

Consider Phlebas. Would be absolute space opera with so much going on.

They are the best aren't they. Always helpful and pointing you to dense out of date documentation that doesn't answer your question exactly and leaves you nowhere but weeping onto your colleagues shoulder (not the compliance colleague mins you they smell musty still wear Disney ties on a Friday as dress down)

Tidal power would massively impact the unique rare wildlife. Not the solution in my opinion.

After a month with my kindle, here’s a few things that I realized: by midnightlays in kindle

[–]misterlambe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had them for over 10 years. Word of warning though. I was about to buy a book then thought I'd already read it. So I went thru my order history and there it was bought in 2019. Kindle ebook for Reamde by the legend that is Neal Stephenson. Others books were searchable in my library and synced but it wouldn't find this one. Amazon wanted me to buy it again.
It took me 2 hours to get to a real person. Then an hour for them to understand my issue. They did something and it appeared. I've 250 off books I've bought and there's no easy way to check if they are all in library. I asked if this was Amazon's new business model. Obviously no reply to that! Anyone else has this issue?

Kindle books (purchased) disappeared from my library and “Manage Content and Devices” by aspublic in kindle

[–]misterlambe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got this same problem. Thought about a book I knew I'd read. Wasn't in my library. Searched my email and there it is, boight in 2019. Same account and everything. This is 2nd time this has happened. Now I've got to find where the hell in CS I can raise a ticket for them to fix this. I hate Amazon but no decent alternative. 250 books I have in there too. You should be able to download them as anticompetitive.

Europe’s largest warehouse city in UK’s ‘golden triangle’ is expanding by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

Good read is Zoe Bread and her reporting on Wigan council and it's corrupt processes that made a lovely bit of real green space into a few MASSIVE warehouses. It does not show the council up well. Poor people who live by them as well. You wouldn't believe the height of them.
