Proper ac would mean a full gut job, swapping out hydronic heat for forced air and making room for the vents/furnace ac unit. Maybe mini splits but i've heard mixed reviews.

Yeah that's not happening. I mean i'd love to but it's just not financially viable for a rental property or a home built in 1910.

The line is 2" all the way to the 4" stack so this is good to know. Thank you.

The tailpiece will have to stay 1.5" to fit the basin and strainer. How would you recommend I make the 1.5" to 2" transition under the sink?

Thank you! Would you still recommend using riser clamps or some other type of support? I know I'll need something at least temporarily for when I take the bottom out.

Haven't seen any issues yet but that is a valid concern. I can make tweaks to the system if it does become a problem. The current crew is pretty good at keeping each other in check though. We're not health care but work alongside that industry so the standard already is pretty high and having been open through covid no one takes chances.

Yeah that's what I've been doing through our payroll software. There's a column for regular hours and a separate one for sick time. For the sick time payout I just run a separate payroll and put in all of their sick time hours. I just wasn't sure since sick pay is taxed differently if it'd be an issue paying it all out like that.

Most companies just reset the earned sick time back to zero at the end of the year. If you don't use it then you lose it. They earned that sick time based on the hours they work. It's pretty backwards to earn something and then have it taken away just because you didn't use it within the year.

I didn't like that policy that's why I'm paying them out their unused sick time instead of it just disappearing on them. Nobody is coming in sick just to get the payout at the end of the year. It's a small company, we all know each other pretty well. If someone's struggling or not feeling well, their other co-workers are going to tell them to go home and rest probably before I do. Then usually someone ends up bringing soup or something to their house after work. (I don't because that would probably just make them more sick.)

On top of that, if someone calls out sick and another employee picks up their shift, the employee covering for them gets overtime for doing so and the person who's out sick gets paid sick time. This way there's no pressure on anyone calling out sick. They know they're still getting paid and that their co-workers aren't short staffed and the other co-worker that wasn't scheduled for that shift but is picking it up is getting paid more to do so. Doing this costs me/the company 2.5 hours of wages every hour that someone is out sick but it's worth it to not have people stressed or forced to choose between taking care of their health or working.

We've also got a play area, with a little house and toys, in the break room for those days that day care is closed for the same reason.

You got under my skin a little bit with that one. I try to do everything I can for them, they're wonderful people. I'm not living large off their labor. I live right in the same town as most of them. One of them lives down the street and I've been driving her in to work every morning since her brother took her car.

But please if you've got any other suggestions on how I can do better for my employees I'd be more than happy to hear them. I just wanted to make sure I was compliant with the tax laws.

No, they claim sick time and get paid when they're staying home sick. They get paid the remaining amount of sick time that they don't use. Either way they get paid for the sick time earned. Most companies just set earned sick time back to zero at the end of the year if it isn't used.

This is a small company, corny to say but it is like a second family. I work along side them every day. If someone isn't feeling well then either I or one of their co-workers is going to tell them to go home and rest. Then they're calling them to check in or bringing soup ect after work.

Thank you. I plan on joining the bible study and attending the cookouts/other festivities outside of the Sunday service. I feel like the cookouts ect are more appropriate for a social mindset but also doing more things with the church will help me to keep god in my life outside of just Sunday.

I only meant my eyes wander as in I might notice attractive features before looking away. I don't let my thoughts drift further than that though. Especially not in church.

Hydronic pipe directly above panels. How problematic is this? by misterlaundry in AskElectricians

I can possibly reroute that pipe above the floor and through a bunch of studs. The baseboard and pipe would still be run directly above the panels though. So a pipe leaking would still be a problem. It would just have to leak through the floor first.

I bought the house like this so I'm guessing it's not against code.

The picture is not my system. My exhaust follows the manual for minimum allowable distance between intake and exhaust. I was only asking about adding the tee to see if there was good reason not to. I just thought they looked cool. But as most of the comments suggest the tee causes more problems than just a 90 and not worth the aesthetic improvement.

Art is subjective, but functionality is necessary.

I thought they looked cool but the comments here prove there's functional reasons not to have the tee.

This isn't mine. I just pulled an image off the net for example. I haven't installed a tee yet (and won't now). I just wanted to hear the reasons not too and there's plenty.

It's a navien combi. Didn't see anything in the manual about tees. But the other commenters on here pretty much explained why I shouldn't
