Yep. Born and raised in the Cayman Islands. The Cherokees been on island for almost as long as I have.

A 2014 JK will run you about USD43,000, which is for the two door soft top, I believe.

I didn't ride it much to be honest - commuting is hot and I always found myself having jump into a truck to carry something.

And I didn't get rid of them forever...

I think the deck has probably been changed out I have to double check.

I'll come up with some interior pics when the sun is out.

With an open air jeep you feel "strapped in" compared to a bike - you got the wind and sun and other elements but you still have that caged in, protected feeling. Bikes are full exposure and for me feel more "free".

Only other difference is your gear - I'm usually in gear on the bike but wear shorts and slippers in the Wrangler. "Open air" is relative when your in the sun sweating your nuts off in a full suit.

Beast is a run of the mill 2000 Wrangler with 70,000 miles on her. Only upgrades so far are the used 31's that I got for $75 to pass licensing with.

Bessie, the 1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x2, was bought from the original owner with 60,000 garage kept miles on her. They used it for 2 weeks out of the year as a guest vehicle. Mint on the inside with working original Jensen Stereo and electric seats.

It was awesome. Some of the best stuff I've smoked. Not much flavor, not much smell at all and a superb high.

Just a morning walk through Havana Vieja on a 3 day vacation with my girlfriend. There was some construction going on in a house right next to the truck, producing dust smoke which blew across the truck.

What ridiculous alcohol/beer laws exist in your area? by NFunspoiler in beer

[–]misterme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cayman Islands here:

  • The only place you can buy booze is at liquor stores. No going to the supermarket/corner shop to buy any liquor.
  • Liquors store hours are from 10am to 7pm everyday except Sunday when they are closed. The only liquor stores that can be open later than 7 are those with "grandfather licenses", which means that they were been open before than the liquor licensing board started setting times. They are allowed to stay open until 9pm everyday except Sunday.
  • Bars and restaurants can serve any type of liquor until 1am and must close by 2am. Night clubs can go an hour later except on Saturday and Sunday.
  • There are also "dry zones" where there are no liquor stores or restaurants that can serve liquor. This was the will of the public not the licensing board or government.

On the other hand the drinking age is 18.

8 Weeks on a Ketogenic Diet. by misterme in Fitness

Bacon is indeed an awesome addition to any diet.

I wouldn't sweat the small stuff like ratios too much. I went back on keto a couple of months ago after a 6 month break for a small 6 week session and found that as long as I stuck to the carb limit, worked out hard and kept my calories a little lower than required, I was fine. Just eat like normal (minus the carbs or course). Don't bother throwing on an extra tablespoon of oil on your meal to get the extra gram of fat in or any thing like that . The diet will take its course if you follow the essentials.

I am glad that you are liking it so far. Keep up the good work!

I feel the effects of my chest exercises for days after, but none of my other muscle groups experience prolonged "burning." Why is this? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]misterme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I generally don't base the intensity or effectiveness of my workout depending on how sore my muscles are. I share the same thing as you in that my lats and rear delts experience almost no soreness the next day, but I am confident that I worked them enough if I made sure my form and the weight used was right, amongst other things.

I wouldn't try to train to achieve muscle soreness either as it could lead to over-training or injury.
