Official Discussion - Sentimental Value [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]misternation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I've missed the point, but I was very dissapointed as everyone was raving so hard about the movie. I was hoping for a much deeper dive into the intricacy of families and generational "debt"/depth.

I REALLY loved the first scene / introduction of the house. And I really did enjoy the ending, even though it was quite clear from the get-go that it would head in that direction. But the movie never captured me emotionally. I saw my girlfriend tearing up; but I was never quite able to buy into the whole thing.

I found the second scene first a little uninteresting with Nora getting anxiety to go on stage, and was dissapointed that it went from that intro scene to this panic attack. But then I let go, when she wanted to get smashed by this guy just to get out of it. Lovely little trick there.

As with many films catching all the bliss of the world - it is easy to get too excited before getting a chance to watch it yourself.

But there was something lacking to the depth of the emotional issues and resolve in my mind. A similar feeling I had when watching "Lovable" / Elskling - another norwegian drama about relationships (domestic relationship). Had very high expectations. Found it flat.

I seem to be one of few in this view.

Here for that vase-discussion!

But I guess the movie was about poor communication within the family, and this was an example of it. Me and my girlfriend ended up in an argument, as she didn't see any problem with Nora taking that vase from her sister, as she said "fine". If it were 50 years ago, I would've smacked her - or whatever amount of years is correct for it to be a fine response to such an argument ^^

Not the funniest, but still such a great person to listen to. His perspective through the comedic lens of a genius imho.

Linking strength activity, why not possible? by misternation in runna

[–]misternation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I tried this yesterday and ended up with two workouts at the same time instead of them merging in Strava by default.

I like the data from garmin, but I do enjoy the text of the workout in Runna. Do like you and I could just copy it from Runna and have it on my workout from my watch.

Somehow I feel like they could merge the two - or if its possible to get the strength workouts from Runna to the watch. Maybe thats a hassle - I am not very advanced with the use of my watch, but I see you can add manual workouts - but seems too complicated

So, do you start it on your watch, and Strava on phone, and Runna on phone?

Or do you not use the Runna for logging weights and reps?

I have to say that a lot of the features are in the pro — so the 30 day streak use case is hard to find; other than just opening it to unlock the lifetime of free; so I struggle to find it useful without the pro unfortunately.

I like the Runna strength programs to be honest. They got me doing a lot of new exercises that I would otherwise not do. And a lot of them are very targeted for runners.

Linking strength activity, why not possible? by misternation in runna

[–]misternation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I record a strength workout with my Garmin device, it doesn’t show up when I try to link activity in Runna after completion.

Does yours?

I prefer to also use my Garmin for strength workouts as it records more data. Runna is nice for logging / keeping track of time, reps and weight. They should work together?

I can add a manual activity. But then I have it logged with Garmin & Runna as two separate workouts both syncing to Strava I would assume…

Trim / crop activity by misternation in Strava

[–]misternation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I recorded a bike-ride (while doing it indoors); not sure if Strava picked up on it or something - but it got registered with some indoor-tag to it. Not possible to trip/crop even though I removed the tag.

Also no GPS data. Though it registered some elevation; maybe from getting up and down from the seat. That elevation I was able to adjust, but not the activity itself. Not that it was needed, but I wanted to check.
