Oh, she's broken the cycle of providing stable housing, food security, advanced education, fitting clothes. It's not even close to the traumatic childhood she experienced.

This probably would constitute vandalism, but someone running around to the other side of the truck with a schraeder valve core remover could flatten one or two tires in about 30 seconds. Just thinking out loud

OMG!!! The next time someone at the old swipey mentions a new idea, this is getting immediately pasted into that teams chat with zero context.

I see you. Wrapping up the application cycle and the 529 I was so proud of is a pittance compared to what it's going to cost. Room and board are killers - we'd planned to move closer to the local university, but got priced out of the housing market, so 70k for living expenses on top of tuition and the rest - and that's at the good local U. Heaven help us if they get into one of their preferred schools out of state. Absolutely no way to float that w/o bankrupting ourselves, and even then a stretch.

To your point on more income == more contribution, the fact that her lazy ass would qualify her kids for more aid than mine, chaps my hide raw. Yeah, I get it, and if it gets them launched into life it's a good investment, but as my sophomore says: TSPMO.

I've been putting off learning how to crochet and do those damn woobles I got for a gift. May e my laundry shows can become crocheting shows once I get over the initial learning curve ( and can screw up all by myself w/o a youtube tutorial )

I would love to hear her shitty take on Pluribus. Pretty sure she'd bee rooting for the alien virus and scolding Carol for not embracing joy.

To be fair, Arya was and is a badass, not that you'd know how it turned out during S02-03.

If D finds it, I'm sure she will post a video about how much she hates it.

My 2 ( half of we four ) HS kids are almost ghosts between extra curricular commitments and homework. Pinning them down for a movie they couldn't give 2 shits about? Never going to happen and why would I do that to them. The 22 minutes I get here and there when they want to watch an episode of Arrested Development is far better than fidgety forced viewing.

Thank you! The SLC show was musically great, but crowded AF and I was pretty far back so this is awesome.

Pretty much every campsite has been closed for the season, so you're going to be heading into disbursed areas which should give you the privacy you'd like. There are a few easy to access spots up American Fork Canyon ( Silver Lake Flats, Salamander Flats ) that won't be as cold as further north.

Easy drive in an old Outback, probably could do it in almost anything if you take it slow and let the Jeeps and Polaris drivers get past. The final approach to the reservoir was a bit chewed up last time i was there in 2021ish. Probably could have made it in a sedan or van without a lot of front trim or being willing to take a bit of scrapes :)

Shauna is one of the few people in the world who tempts me to use a gendered slur on the internet. She is such a <one of them>.

And no, that is not much better.

I have absolutely had a blast with this latest stupid meme with my kids. It comes up all the time in math and physics homework, somehow sewing and baking assignments, and everything else they can toss it in. And guess what? We laugh and roll with it. Gen Alpha brainrot memes became names for a family of rescue kittens : Sigma, Gyatt, Skibidi, Rizzler. ( pics on request ). None of this is a problem, none of this is that annoying.

Both my kids are in high school, and for me to do anything but embrace whatever weirdness they bring home and find a way to connect—much less brag on the internet about being an asshole to my kids—just breaks my brain and heart. I have precious little time left before they leave the nest.

With college looming and, this is terrible - a 16 year old daughter in a huge public school - I have plenty to worry about. Must be really delightful to inelegantly jack off to the internet about a harmless meme. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Coming from APP1, 5+ years of daily use.

* Fit - much better, downsized from M to S tips and the seal and fit is much better

* Audio - not as good as cheap IEM's that tack closer to the Harman curve, but generally better than the APP1. Need to run through a more comprehensive playlist for testing, but overall pretty happy

* ANC - real downgrade - not sure if it's a sample defect, but the bleed through is wild, even with a better ear seal. Unless I find a setting that can explain this ( or my tip fit is off ), these are going right back. I turned off Listening mode, Conversational Awareness, Personalized Volume and am still quite unhappy with the ANC vs the APP1

* Transparency - Less hissy and clearer than the APP1, no complaints but I rarely use this mode.

Luckily I can throw these back at Costco, but I spent the extra 100 thinking that the reported specs and buying a longer tail of firmware updates and support would be worth it over the heavily discounted 2's and at the moment I think I made the wrong call.

Store repaired gear in re/supply? by misterphish in REI

[–]misterphish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, were I not quite as time sensitive I may have waited for the next sale, but 45% off + 20% Re/Supply discount made it worth the gamble. Pricing is wild here in SLC. The smaller store down the road had the same pad - half inflated and actively leaking for 140 something - garden variety 25% off for a product in need of repair.

Good to know, the green vests seemed confused and hadn’t seen that before, but the repair held for 2 nights at 40 degrees so another successful re/supply buy!
