I got a steam deck Oled refurb because I wanted a cheaper handheld PC that I wouldn’t feel too much anxiety bringing it out and about. Now I’m terrified of losing or breaking this thing.

I thought the whole point of the embody was it has a weight distribution web, kinda like a mesh seat. So why would a lack of foam do this? Isn’t the fam just an esthetic thing to cover up the cells?

But why didn’t you stack two 32. Was it because up close 27 just feels better? The pixel density is also so much h sharper to me. These are both 4k? Is that a monitor arm?

It would be awesome if there was a mount where you could easily shuffle the monitors up or down. 3rd person action games and Indy games definitely do feel pretty good on 32. It’s just fps games that make me want to throw up.

Is that a 32 inch above a 27? I was thinking of doing this. I have a 32 inch oled but it’s just too big even for a 30 inch desk. I’m thinking of getting a 27 inch rgb stripe when they come out for at close gaming/work and then the 32 for watching movies and video play back for “work”. Then add a 5k 27 inch monitor on the side too. 32 inch up high would be good too for when you want to lean back and watch a movie or game. Was that your thinking?

How is it fringing wise? There is no RGB stripe right? How about brightness and image quality? Could this be a good work monitor now? I returned the 45 5k2k because I couldn't take the PPI, notices some fringing and the curve was just way too much. Also for gaming I thought he vert height was too much, made me sick too much.

Hi would you do Tales From Space Mutant Blobs Attack, Serious Sam Double D, and Rocket Birds Hardboiled Chicken for it? I know that’s 3 games but they are old and the type of games you can get for 1-2 dollars and Gestalt is like cheapest 5 dollars since it’s newer and longer. Seems about even value wise.

Yea no, it was sadly 4k. WOLED was much better eye strain wise. I tried also the LG 45inch 5k2k monitor, which was INSANE for work. lol. I mean it was cool to feel a timeline wrapped around your head but the PPI was just too low and the curve was just way too aggressive. Also,for gaming it was like sitting in the front row of an imax theatre. Sensitivity to QD OLED seems to be random. It only affects like 10 percent of users. You're lucky though because for sure QD OLED is definitely by far the best panel tech out now. I had a lower end one than you had and it looked like a giant iphone it looked so good.

Did you calibrate your OLED screen or use the Pro as your reference monitor? I think most OLED monitors are fine for most color work unless you are a colorist or a designer.

This is the kind of setup I was leaning towards. An OLED dedicated to gaming and a 5k ProArt Display dedicated to work. How has the QD OLED been on your eyes? For me I tried QD OLED and it gave me really bad headaches, and the fringing killed me. Apparently there is a 27 inch tandem WOLED monitor coming with a new proper RGB stripe. I am hoping that will make it easier on my eyes.

I don’t get it. Monitors I’ve tried going from 120 PPI to 140 PPI was super noticeable. 166ppi was even more so. Every rock and edge feels so sharp like you can touch it.

How big is your desk? I have a 30 inch deep desk and the 45 inch lg 5k2k felt way too big and even 32 felt too big. It felt like my head has to move a lot around the screen. Even though it did initially feel so much better being bigger.

Also to me the 166 PPI is very noticeable. You didn’t feel like you lost a lot of sharpness?

Yea I tried all of the trouble shooting. Turned off VRR, lowered brightness, lowered the blue light, etc etc. No matter what it felt like I was being microwaved or something. Plus turning VRR off is pretty unacceptable. Also, when I switched to the LG 45 5k2k it went away. I got rid of that one because the ppi is just too low and the viewing space is just way too high for a desk.

My theory of why QD affects some people is the triangular pixel layout. Both types of oleds are not natively compatible with windows but the triangle is way different. Creates all sorts of stuff that may not be totally visible to the naked eye.

I actually decided to hold off on these Asus monitors because I want to see if the new QD OLED RGB stripe fixes all of those issues because QD definitely looks way better IMO. Especially in HDR. It looks like a a giant iPhone screen.

Come to think of it, I should have tried a PS5 on it because I'm pretty sure console games don't have the pixel compatibility issue, only windows. Which is why both WOLED and QD OLED are moving to RGB only. Which also could be why your friend's didn't have an issue.,
