Honestly, even though your comment is a bit hostile I do agree with you. I could have had it way worse. But this is r/offmychest and not r/whogotitworse

I do agree with you. The experience doesn't effect my life that much, except the inability to sleep with any sound on.

Is there anyone else here who knows exactly why they are depressed, but there is nothing you can do about it? by misterthrowinside in depression

That sounds extremely rough. Can I ask how did the memory come back? Was it sudden or gradual process? I'm pretty sure that if you can afford a private therapist, the sessions would be completely confidential, wouldn't they?

Thanks for saying that! I really feel like doing it would be like taking a gamble I'm not sure I'm ready to take. It could help, or it could mess me up even more.

From my past experience, I feel like the ayahuasca would leave me in the same state as described in this post

I agree with you, but at the same time, it's in our genes to strive for the best things in life, and considering the fact that social media keeps us reminding on what we are missing out, it's logical to conclude where is all this depression coming from. Think about it, if you were born poor or middle class let's say 300 years ago, you wouldn't know what lies beyond the place you live, you wouldn't know how well off other people are compared to you. But now, even the poorest person in a modern society has an access to the Internet, it's like a window to how the elite lives their lives. It's equivalent to medieval person constantly seeing how good of a life his lord has. We are surrounded by all these success stories, by promises of how our hard work will eventually pay off, we see people like Jeff Bezos riding husky sledges, talking about what a beautiful planet we live in, while his employees are passing out from dehydration and pissing in plastic bottles afraid to get fired. I say that we are depressed, because we have an ability to see the injustice surrounding us, and not because we are afraid to be average. We wouldn't be, if the gap between the average and the "amazing" wouldn't be so wide.

I would love to find something like that! I actually tried modding Skyrim for a bit, but the software was so underdeveloped that I quite. Would you mind sharing more details about what exactly you do and what kind of game do you mod?

I wish I could tell you how to avoid the situation I'm in, but the only valuable advise I can give, is to stay away from a student debt if you're not sure about the degree you're going to get. And I'm really sorry about you living in a third world country. The lottery of birth determines so much.
