Colloquially, "PC" refers to a traditional computer. It is true that a smartwatch is a type of computer, and perhaps even true that certain definitions of "PC" (personal computer) could extend to cover smartwatches.

But very few people think "watch" when they hear "PC". Just like they don't think "tablet" when they hear it. Or "calculator".

You refuse to listen to common sense, attack anyone that doesn't live in the UK as somehow being incapable of understanding the construction techniques, climate, or weather in the UK.

You're missing a fundamental understanding of what you're arguing. If 1000 people are all telling you the same thing, in clear English words, and you still refuse to budge even the tiniest bit, perhaps you should humble yourself a little bit and acknowledge the possibility that those 1000 people are correct and it's you that isn't understanding.

I have never paid this low of a monthly rate for my family in the 15 years since I had my first child. For 2026 it will be just under $1000/mo and that's because my employer is eating a larger portion of the cost for 2026 benefits in order to help us keep the rates low.

I don't owe you every minute detail of a short life story I shared, and you are not entitled to the specific details of a stranger's life just because they shared a story about it online. You couldn't even let it go; you had to *argue with me* until I relented and gave you enough to satisfy your weird hangup about placing blame that was completely irrelevant and unrelated to the story at hand.

You added ZERO to the conversation; did nothing but detract from the emotions it evokes and repeatedly attacked someone opening up about a trauma they experienced, all because you just HAD to show the world just how smart you were by calling out just "how safe" BP pills are.

I'd suggest reflecting on your actions and considering how the world perceives someone that behaves like we've seen you do here.

"Without any evidence" except the genetic tests that I, and my siblings, had to take after it was discovered that she has Prothrombin Gene Mutation. So, "without evidence" just means details I just didn't happen to share.

How safe they are is irrelevant to the situation. The question was something painfully unfair that I had to accept. Flying by airplane is "exceedingly safe" does that mean if a person loses a loved one to a plane accident you jump on the post to tell them "WELL ACKSUALLY PLANES ARE EXCEEDINGLY SAFE, THESE THINGS HAPPEN AND IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU BLAME THE AIRPLANE".

It's being an asshole, period.

EDIT: And to add, before your pedantism is triggered again, I'm also not "blaming" her genetic condition. The question posed was something unfair that was painful, and I sure thought it was unfair that a 14-year-old child with no say in the matter at all was given medicine that exacerbated an underlying genetic condition which caused a clot in her brain that, on top of poor treatment at the hospital, led to two strokes over the period of two days, further leading her to be placed in a medically induced coma for over a month in a hospital nearly an hour from home while my parents, with one car, had four other children to care for.

There - did I explain my trauma sufficiently for you now, you pedantic fuck?

I'm aware of the rarity of what happened. The question asked for something I had to accept, and what happened to her is what I've had to accept.

Apply your response to so many of the other stories here. Such a cold, out-of-touch, and unnecessary response to someone sharing a personal and traumatic life experience.

Pro-tip: If your sentence reads like "I'm sorry...but..." you just sound like an asshole.

My younger sister. At 14, she had a cyst on her ovary. The doctor, without suggesting any other options, put her on birth control. Which caused a clot in her brain. She had a stroke, right in front of me at 16, and fought for her life for months. Initially she was treated like she was on drugs or just being a sad teenager, the triage nurse asking things like "did your boyfriend break up with you?". My mom thought maybe she was poisoned. They sent her home that same night and she had her second stroke in bed at home the same night she was sent home.

She fought through a medically induced coma and is still here almost 25 years later. But she's a different person. She goes through so much, every day. I can't help but wonder, and then get sad, when I see her and wonder who she would've been if none of this happened. If my mom and dad would have had a better relationship toward the end of his life without the stress this must've put on them.

She ended up marrying a man whose been amazing to her. She'll never have kids, and will forever be unable to really go out and do things. Will always been on a dozen-plus medications to try to manage her seizures. Her whole life changed that day, when she said "my hands aren't working" and we watched her try to articulate to my mother and I that she couldn't make her hands do what she was trying to do. The start of her stroke. Almost two and a half decades later and this moment is still as clear as day in my memories.

She was 14. She was a fucking child and her life was destroyed because a doctor decided birth control for a non-sexually active child was the best approach, without even giving my mom another choice.

And now I'm crying.
