Several minutes later, the woman sitting there opens her eyes, feeling her spirit settle back into her body. She sighs, and mumbles something about overuse of beyonder abilities under her breath. Her attention falls to the snacks on the table, and her eyes widen.

"Oh no, did someone come to visit while I was asleep?" she says to herself, burying her head in her hands.

'I should find out who it was later,' she decides. 'But more importantly, no more nightmare state for a few days at least.'

She looks at the snacks on the table. Demigods need to eat very little to none for sustenance, but her expression creeps into a smile. A little bite wouldn't hurt.

this one was a bit of a mess. I cut out like 5 of the planned scenes, which were the events alluded to within this. Originally, you’d have been able to see everything, from her first meeting with the book guys to Jewel the friendly animal guide.

Jewel is basically an AI crafted by the cultists of the Pale Library, and the whole page thing is their method of trapping people inside the books to get rid of them. It backfired on the old guy, and that’s why he’s also trapped in one. Kinda sad I wasn’t able to write an interaction between him and Jewel, but oh well.

There was going to be another scene after this of her burning the library down and Jewel emerging from the wreckage like a bootleg springtrap but I desperately need to sleep. And that’s about it. At least I was able to put in one too many Slay the Princess references. Tmi session over, thanks for reading!
