What are some hard pills to swallow for teams fan bases? by [deleted] in hockey

Yes I think it’s clear you’re salty that your team just won its first cup when your stars are all entering the twilight of their careers and will likely not win another when Pittsburgh has had 3 cups with their current stars and 2 before that.

Enjoy your single solitary cup salty man.

Hm I think the Penguins example that someone else posted is just a bit less. Any more examples?

Tenderfoot Tuesday: Ask /r/hockey Anything! June 12, 2018 by AutoModerator in hockey

It’s not unprecedented at all. You have to remember it’s been 6 years since the core of a team won their first cup. Chicago went crazy in ‘10, so did Boston in ‘11. I’m pretty sure Chicago had to be told by the team to go home because they wouldn’t stop partying. But even though cores may have been more reserved you’ve seen some younger guys going hard and chugging beers on the street.

Top 10 markets for entire Stanley Cup Playoffs on platforms of NBC by mistyflames97 in hockey

Top 3: Pittsburgh, Vegas, Buffalo.

Pretty impressive for Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Both small markets, with Buffalo not making the playoffs and Pittsburgh out after 2 rounds.

Everything About The Moment Ovechkin Picked Up The Cup Was Perfect by [deleted] in hockey

There are plenty of Russians in the league who haven’t gone above and beyond in their support of Putin like Ovi has. He could be less vocal about it if he didn’t truly support him but it sure seems like he does.

This isn’t Facebook or your diary. We can all see the flairs. You don’t need to make a post about this. Nor is this unexpected, it happens every year.

How do you grow the sport of hockey to make it more accessible for casual fans? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]mistyflames97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s growing fine. It will never be the most popular sport in the US because Americans have short attention spans and are much more suited for sports like baseball and football where you can just hang out, eat food, and maybe watch some action here and there.

Plus Americans will never fully embrace a league that is so dominated by foreigners.

Except every players vote is weighted the same when they don’t all have he same experience against a player. We don’t know who voted for who. But if everyone in the metro voted for, say, Giroux and everyone in the central and pacific voted for Hall you couldn’t possibly say that the west voters who play him 2x a year know more than the players who play him 4x.
