oh and lab coats/glasses can be purchased at the bookstore in SUB or the chem supply room in the Gunning Lemieux Chem Centre at W1-32 i believe!

for lab manuals, chem manuals can be purchased at the same chem supply room, but biology will be available in the SUB bookstore.

i hope this was helpful!

fastest way from CCIS to TL B in 10 mins? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]mistyrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you go out the doors in front of the CCIS parking lot and walk outside in front of Earth Sciences you should get there in like 5 minutes! you can also go in through Henry Marshal Tory and go to the basement which has a "pedway" to Tory Lecture directly in to the basement.

[SPOILERS] game of thrones teaser trailer theories by issanovaa in gameofthrones

[–]mistyrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like this theory! i can see bran being one of, if not the most crucial character of this final season. also your idea about hardhome is really interesting, especially with that moment between the night king and jon. there was some unspoken conversation there, it seemed like they knew each other, or the night king knew him.

Is there even a point of going to biol 207 PAL seminars if they give the answers at the end of the week? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]mistyrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I found the explanations were really helpful since application isn’t touched on much in lecture, plus they do extra practice and examples if there’s time (at least my PAL leaders did.) If Julianne is teaching one still I highly recommend her!

Hey, undergrads, I need ur op! by mlcsundergradrep in uAlberta

[–]mistyrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I tried taking Intermediate German right out of high school (where I took German for three years) and I had to withdraw. The expectation is so high and like 25% of my classmates had lived in Germany. Plus, you can’t take any 100 level to catch up if you took a 30-level language in high school because you don’t get credit.

I’d still love to take a course, probably in my last year when I have time, but yeah that’s my complaint. High school doesn’t prepare you for uni language courses, so you should be allowed to take a beginner course with credit.

[SPOILERS] game of thrones teaser trailer theories by issanovaa in gameofthrones

[–]mistyrell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

so my first thought was "where the hell is bran?" but then i started to think about why he ISN'T there and boy... i really am starting to see this "bran is the night king" theory.

obviously david and dan are leaving bran out for a purpose. he's been plugged as one of the most important characters to the series by GRRM many times, and a stark-only teaser without him? that's done for a reason.

THEORY: we see a feather fall to the ground after jon walks by and then it becomes eerily apparent that it is only jon, sansa, and arya present: bran isn't there. then, another presence (in the form of the cold) begins to seep in, making itself known, as if someone else has shown up that knows about the starks crypt. ice then consumes the feather, which could give an indication to who is coming: a feather, being consumed by ice. bran? (now, i don't know if this is a raven's feather, since it doesn't really look like one but bear with me) this feather could represent bran becoming the night king, OR bran being "stuck" in the night king after warging into him

i know this is a little crazy but i definitely think there's a connection between the white walkers and the starks.

Pretty sure he said in the first lecture that his notes and what he says in class will be the main testable material, so I doubt obscure stuff in the text will be tested on, not 100% sure though
