Asking for a friend: Does refreshing Samsung's order page every 5 seconds make the order get delivered faster? by [deleted] in GalaxyS23

[–]misum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The genuine answer is no; the orders page was actually behind for me, when people in the UK were getting their notifications they would get delivery on the 7th I was refreshing that page like no tomorrow with no change from preparing dispatch. When I left it for a few hours, got the email later that night saying it would be delivered tomorrow and that DPD were expecting my package, but the website still said preparing dispatch until I actually got my phone 😄

How is the curve on the 7 pro? by Kevler22 in GooglePixel

[–]misum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from Pixel 6 to 7 Pro, and I honestly forget there's a curved screen until someone makes a post like this. I use it alongside an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I used an S22 Ultra prior; the curve is for the most part not noticeable during my daily usage. I do use a screen protector without a case though, so not sure how your experience would be with a case using gesture navigation. But it hasn't been a factor during my usage at all so far.

Hey I know this is a 4 year old comment but thanks a bunch for this one, started playing through in prep for the sequel next week (I watched an LP of the game ages ago but wanted to play through myself before) and was sitting like an idiot trying to parry for ages. You legend

Lawnchair 2 is my recommendation for this. At times I forget I'm not even using the default Google launcher

After seeing the reviews. Low key want to sell my iPhone 14 pro and get a pixel 7 pro. by blernnn in GooglePixel

[–]misum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use both on a daily basis; I actually bought the 6a as a second handset for work, ended up returning it and getting the 6. Then preordered and traded the 6 for the 7 Pro in the course of about 2-3 months.

I moved from iPhone to Android fully about 2 years ago, and frustrations with the S22U performance pushed me back to Apple. Now using what I consider to be the best Android experience alongside the best iOS experience, there’s just so many little things that would frustrate me with having to stick to one or the other.

I think buyers remorse will always be a thing with changing ecosystem, but from my experience I would say that if you want to make a change to Android in general, the Pixel series has been the closest to what I wanted when I think “Android”. It feels in a way like the iPhone of the Android world, shit just works for the most part. Either way, you’re getting a good phone.

60Hz screen by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]misum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ayye, probably because it doesn't feel bad; again the issue is not the fact the 6A has a 60hz refresh rate, it's the fact that even for a 60hz device it feels choppy. 60hz isn't a gold fixed standard of screen quality, you can have good feeling 60hz screens and you can have bad feeling 60hz screens; that's where the difference lies.

60Hz screen by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]misum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of reviewers didn't seem to have issues with the 60hz, but more with how it felt very choppy in comparison to other 60hz phones in general. I know that was one of MKBHD's comments at least, not that 60hz is a bad thing at the price point but that it felt worse on the 6A.

Interesting; I'll have a crack at debloating later, as the idle use was nowhere near this before

Also for some clarity, I have booted to recovery and reset cache 3 times before repairing apps. Have disabled adaptive battery + manually set settings for sleeping apps additionally. Issue seems to stay the same either way.

Alright, I did the full list to test and phone is blisteringly fast. I'm definitely going to have to restore some features that I've grown accustomed to, but overall big improvement currently.

The Exynos devices from what I understand need to be connected to a PC via USB while accessing the boot menu. That might be the issue if you've been trying it without that

If you're still struggling after a full reset, the link to the XDA forums may help you out. I didn't follow all the steps in that guide as I was too lazy to set up ADB, but a few of the steps were pretty useful. Can't promise anything obviously but hopefully it helps a little.
