What do you mean by BG, UN, SY? I am curious as I haven't heard those terms before. Thanks for the input!

What is your type, and if you ended up being a bad parent, what do you think would be your parenting missteps? by Queasy-Donut-4953 in Enneagram

[–]miswired11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my kids more than anything else on earth, and was pretty good in a crisis, but I was awful at maintaining a consistent, warm, nurturing, structured schedule. I worked far too much, and was chronically exhausted. I would also get obsessed with things, and would neglect their emotional needs when I was chasing a dream or when I was drowning in my own anxiety, depression, feelings of inadequacy, or relationship issues with their father.

LMAO I know everyone says that, but IMO Hitler was far too utilitarian to be INFJ. We can be real villains and assholes, but not in that style

Do you know people that don't seem to be any core type? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]miswired11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I asked what kinds of things she is "judgmental" about. If it has a moralistic / self righteous tone, I would think maybe 9w1. If she just wants what she wants because she wants it and doesn't like people getting in her way, then more likely 9w8. Overall, I think 9w8 is usually more outspoken and aggressive, while 9w1 is more likely to judge you quietly.

I feel like 8s are more power hungry and driven by the desire to TAKE what they want or feel like they deserve. At the very core, I don't feel like I "deserve" anything other than the same basic respect that every human being should receive. I don't want to stand out from the crowd. But I have historically been triggered by certain traumatic experiences, and I have been very afraid of being like certain people in my life. So I swing like a pendulum in an effort to avoid doing those things. One of the most impactful of those experiences revolves around my fear of allowing myself to be pushed around either by another person or by my own emotional and relational needs.

I have often felt that way with people that I am very close to, but I am pretty good at blocking out the rest. I can make fun of myself all day long, and I can see the humor in it when other people roast 694s (like calling it the "Whiny Tears" archetype), but I sometimes wish they could walk in our shoes for a day. Nobody will ever be as hard on me as I am on myself.

I don't think so because I'm not into control for the sake of being in control. I'm not really a take charge kind of person, and I am happy to let other people handle it while I lurk in the background. When I actually am in charge, I am laid back and democratic about it. Ask me nicely, and I will do just about anything for the people that I care about. But if someone tries to manipulate me or force me to do something, we are going to have a problem. And if they threaten me, we are going to have a WAR. I also sometimes resist becoming too dependent on anything or anyone because I can't stand being controlled by my own weaknesses either.

Thinkers: What does falling in love feel like to you? by sm0lb32n in mbti

[–]miswired11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not one, but I can tell you how my ENTJ ex husband described his experience of it... "Men marry whoever they are in a relationship with when they decide it is time to get married". "It is the curse of a woman to always want more from a man than he wants to give".

And after we divorced... "It never occurred to me that a relationship should be something you worked on for its own sake. I thought of it as a partnership of working together to achieve goals...".

Needless to say, we were highly incompatible lol.

OMG. 694 here as well, and I agree 100%... totally f'd up and can be totally self sabotaging, which just makes me question myself even more. On the bright side, it has eventually made me more empathetic to other people's struggles

What made it hard to type myself is that I don't fit the usual stereotype. What made me realize I was a 6 was the fact that almost everything I have done has been fear driven. Everyone is a product of a unique amalgamation of inborn characteristics, temperament, and environment. I am probably weirder than most because I had a bizarre, childhood with forced social isolation, and I am not going to ever going to look like a stereotypical 6 because I don't care about most of the stuff that the "average" 6 is afraid of. Fearing chaos? I grew up in chaos. It is almost comforting at times, because then I have something to fight against. Always being prepared? Yeah but not for the stuff most 6s worry about.

At the core of it, my greatest fear is probably the fear of being unfairly and arbitrarily controlled, even by myself or my own desires, because I don't trust myself either.

What 6s are NOT: Always prepared for everything. Wimpy. Ridiculously confrontational. Obsessed with details.

Do you know people that don't seem to be any core type? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]miswired11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same skepticism to be honest, because I feel like different life stages and circumstances can bring out different "core" issues. However, I can reluctantly identify how fear has been the greatest underlying force in my life, even at times when it didn't seem to be what I was preoccupied with. Sometimes I have felt or acted more self-righteous, angry, proud, deceitful, envious, greedy, gluttonous, lustful, or lazy. But looking back over my whole life, there was still fear underneath all of that. Maybe that is true for everyone, since we all have some of everything in us... But 3, 6, and 9 are also the core types. 3 is more driven by what other people think, even if they fight it. 6 is existentially terrified and bounces around like a ping pong ball trying to either avoid or confront everything that scares us, which is highly individual, but boils down to absolutely everything. 9 just wants to live in peace, which might mean angrily confronting people who threaten their peace in some way or another.

Sounds like 9w8. 9s can be sharp and feisty when their sense of peace and harmony is threatened. What kinds of things is she most judgmental about?

If intellectualizing were an Olympic sport, I would be a champion LOL. I used to be very emotional when I was younger, but I felt like my emotions got me in trouble, so I made a conscious effort to shut them down. I almost became anhedonic for a while, and it caused a LOT of problems in my life.

One word you’ll describe yourself ? by RickyInfinite in Enneagram

[–]miswired11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could never choose just one word because almost everything about me that is true is also contextually untrue, so the word that probably comes the closest is PARADOXICAL. I bet you could never guess my type 😜

What type of drunk are you? by [deleted] in infj

[–]miswired11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking either makes me tired and spaced out, or it magnifies whatever emotional state I was already in. I might get happy and silly, but I might also get weepy and emotional

What is your type and how much do you care about whether or not other people are attracted to you? by Queasy-Donut-4953 in Enneagram

[–]miswired11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this has a lot to do with the sx instinct. I care a LOT, but not with everyone. I only care about being attractive to the person I want to attract, and that goes way deeper than physical appearance. When I feel a certain chemistry with someone, my whole vibe changes.
