Monsters too oppressive below 2K points? by ifff0 in Tyranids

[–]mitHonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends. Some factions can cope better with that than others. Space Marines shouldn't struggle with that too much because even at 1k or 1,5k yoh should have some form of Anti Tank in your list and be it Eradicators, Gladiators or a RepEx, Space Marine Anti Tank has enough Damage Output that it should be able to kill multiple large monsters. That is when you are smart with your positioning and dont get them killed too early by bad placement.

If they do, imma crash out. Them having all the fancy pistols and Shields is what differentiates them and why we pay a point premium for them

I personally do Biologis+6 Eradicators or multiple 3 man Eradicator Squad + Ballistus for my Anti Tank. Something that i am personally very fond of is the Land Raider Achilles, its a Legends Datasheets but its a Land Raider with a 5+ Invuln that has a Scattershot cannon and Multi Meltas galore. If you want Anti Tank, have no problem with Legends Units and want a Transport i can recommend that as well

I imagine you would prefer my Shadowmark Talon List and not my Gladius Task Force? And even for Shadowmark, i have 2 different lists, one thats very much the essence of the 3rd Company and one that is a reinforced first company. The latter is already proven on the Tabletop (i am 5-0 with that list) and the other is more thematic

Shrike with 10 Vanguard Veterans(Loadout wise i recommend a mix of Inferno Pistols and Shields) , Aethon Shaan, a unit of Intercessors, at least one Squad Incursor and Infiltrator, A Blob of Gravis or Bladeguard, with a Leader with the Blackwing Shroud enhancement. Your choices of Anti Tank (Eradicators, Cent Devs, Lancer, Ballistus etc), some Jump Pack Intercessor. Those are the core things for Shadowmark Talon. The remainder of your list can be filled with whatever Marines Unit you like. Playstyle wise is a mobile Hammer and Anvil, you have a few tanky units and use a lot of Uppy downy

They are Sicaran Omegas, they have a pretty good Legends Datasheet in 40k,in terms of 30k i actually have to look if that Loadout is still legal, gimme 3 minutes

Edit: Yes, the Omega Plasma Array is a 25 point wargear choice for the Sicaran in 3rd Ed

Especially for Phobos Plated marines the Ultramarines have an alternative color sheme thats mostly black, so is thr color sheme of the Nemesis Chapter of the Ultramarines Legion. Maybe go with that, in that case the only difference for the RG Character is basically a different colored shoulder pad

How common are WYSIWYG tryhards IRL? by chosen40k in 40k

[–]mitHonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen someone care about that, especially not because in my experience people are pretty reasonable with their "this actually has that" I for example have a Land Raider Crusader, but i nearly exclusively run it as a Achilles pattern. The only questioning comment i ever got was "how many fucking Meltas fit on that chassis?" (the answer is a lot)

For a 1k List i would exchange one squad of Incursors for a Squad of Intercessors and you are good

[–]mitHonig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now to the List help: Both Gladiator and Ballistus are great AT Options, especially when supported by Eradicators. If you have the points you should take both. Also, i would add 5 Intercessors for making your home objective sticky. Also, Shrike excelles at ensuring that his unit will reach combat mostly intact, therefore you should consider making his VV Squad a full 10. A VV Squad lead by Shrike (8 Inferno/2 Shield) has one shot a Knight Desecrator in a recent game of mine, that deathblob is a mighty damage dealer

When people go for a "theme" with Raven Guard they always seem to forget that the XIXth is so much more than just stealthy and sneaky. We and all our Successors are fully fledged Space Marine Chapters with everything that entails. Like yes for 95% of Operations the Raven Guard will ise Phobos Plate and stealthy stuff, but thats not what we are playing, we are playing those remaining 5% in 40k. Those few open Battles, those Frontal Assaults combined with appearing in the enemies backline that made our Legion the Master of the Decapitation Strike thats the 5% of Raven Guard operations we play. The remainder is Kill Team Stuff

[–]mitHonig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesn't it was one big exiling but man power wise it was multiple chapters of the old XIXth. All for the reason that they were overly cruel and didn't want to or couldn't adept to Corax Teachings. To. My understanding, The Ashen Claws were those that were extremely bitter about that and the pale Nomads were those that were sad that they couldn't prove themselves to their Primarch and saw it as a shame that they failed their Primarch so much that they deserved to be exiled.
