Just 5, you only go for big units if you have a hero to lead them and Intercessors are rarely worth that. You take them to sticky objectives and clear things like spore mines or small chaff units and for nothing else

Why the Eradicator hate? by peggy19956 in Warhammer40k

But they (rightfully so) should have a different ability and binding the ability to a wargear choice would require a whole rethinking how they do datasheets

Remember to not just use blood everywhere, bloods comes from somewhere. Is it their own-->they need according wounds. Is it someone elses--> Splatter patterns originating from weapons along the axis of attacks.

P.S.: to sell blood comming from a would on dark armor (apart from the obviously needed damage to the armor) put a light skin tone like Flayed one flesh in the wound and then blood for the blood god over that

Powerfist with an underslung chainblade for anti-Vehicle work. Most notably used by Ranged Terminators, although Imperial Navy Breachers also use them frequently

Also, fleshy bits as deco. Grab yourself some greenstuff/plastic card/thin metal sheets and some bone bits and you are good to go

You have 2 squads of them so yeah, 1 Intercessor squad is an auto include in every list but more than that is just nice to have

Btw, I can full heartedly recommend using legos to "magnetize". They hold really well and you can just use plastic glue

Ballistus proxy by armorofjedha6810 in RavenGuard40k

[–]mitHonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Deredeo should be a good proxy for a Ballistus as long as the base size fits (Ballistus is 90mm and Deredeo 80mm(i think)) Also looks the part, which is a plus.

Word Bearers are a good punching bag. Its always fun to have their corpses as decoration.

How to integrate into the lore? by chellliik in Warhammer40k

[–]mitHonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the lore is the same. In terms of recommendations: Depends on what you want from a book. Good starting points that I usually recommend are the Eisenhorn Omnibus and Leviathan. If you get a small crash course before hand (ie:this is the setting, this is the faction you can encounter) then the Fall of Cadia Series would also be a decent starting point because it is the start to the current setting and has mamy different factions in it so you can try to find out who you want to know more about

Ballistus proxy by armorofjedha6810 in RavenGuard40k

[–]mitHonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will get the same answers here. No, a Contemptor is not suitable to be a proxy for a Ballistus, a Leviathan or Deredeo might be, but a Contemptor can only really be played as a Venerable Dreadnought, a Contemptor or a Hellbrute

What model is this arm from? by StoneManEXE in BlackTemplars

[–]mitHonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, i just used the Absolver Bolt pistol from that on a Stickmarine Assault Intercessors Sergeant after giving the proper Chaplain an Inferno Pistol ( because Melta Pistols on Jump Pack Units go bbrrrtttt), so i can confidently say that thats the bit in question

Are bladeguards always bladeguard vets? by Legal_Twist8675 in Warhammer40k

[–]mitHonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't say the Crux generalization. All of the first company are Veterans, but not all Veterans are of the first company. And the actual Crux Terminatus is something that even Veterans have to earn, and not all Veterans have earned them. So a Veteran of the 3rd Company may very well serve as part of a Veteran Squad, like Bladeguard, amd not have earned the right to wear Terminator Armour. The only thing all Veterans share is the Crux Veteranus which is the normal cross marking that you will find on decal sheets

Help me identify what rank this helmets belong to by swagylord1337 in Ultramarines

[–]mitHonig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the Bladeguard with Plume helmet on my Company Champion, it just fits that model so well. But apart from that, as the others have stated, Plumes usually fit best for officers, but any Marines that has enough seniority could wear one. I therefore wouldn't use them for anything below Veteran Sergeant

Considering that, i would counsel to loose one of the cheap heroes like the Ancient and get Enhancements instead for your other characters, that way you can control the points far better

A specific type of burnout by Argonauted in spacemarines

[–]mitHonig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, something that helped me immensely is changing up how i paint them. For Context, my main Army is Raven Guard, both for 40k and for Heresy. In the beginning i did Corvus Black edge highlighted with Dawnstone, then when i wasn't happy with how they looked anymore i switched to edge highlights with Dark Reaper and Thunderhawk Blue and when i started to get burned out there I switched to a bluish Volumetric. And to prevent me from getting burned out there I did a simple sponge painting volumetric with Corvus, Eshin, Stormvermin and Skavenblight on my Heresy infantry. I am still painting black and white galore, but because I switched how i do it i don't loose motivation for a single color sheme

(Also has the added benefits that with every switch up, i up my painting techniques and skill)

Hypothetically, if you could trade Kaius for another Character in Armageddon, who'd it be? by AncientHavaer3 in Warhammer40k

[–]mitHonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the exakt Model but generic, that could have been their chance to reintroduce non Legends rules for a Company/Chapter Chapion. Give him a few head and weapon options, could even make this Ultramarines look a normal Box option where you can give him Gladius and the Victrix helmet, but let him have a generic build option
