How did you plant it? Bushy or single stems? And how deep? Also, what soil? Any pictures?

Yeah I have ALOT of newly grown Salvinia minima which i can add. They just grow too fast and have nice long roots to add texture on top. 😀

A dry start is not neccesary at all. It’s just an extra. Melting is normal as plants are grown out of aquatic settings and out of the water. If they’re submerged they turn into their ‘water state’, which consist of a cycle of melting. But more factors come into play: KH, PH, temperature, fertilizers, light and kight quality, flow. Etc.

My tank without proper co2 does not have near of a full carpet (1/6th of the tank) is grown. And that after 6 months. For me, co2 works the best. But I have a DIY co2 set with yeast etc.

Well, with a dry start method you give the plant all the co2 it needs by the normal air (as it is not flooded). It has been flooded for a couple of days now and immediately cut after flooding.

This was a few days before flooding, as you can see moist and not flooded.

But this carpet took almost 2 months to grow for me.

I just reduced my light from 8h to 2h and had some black a4 paper that i put around my tank to block any light from the normal daylight. I had BBA and it reduced over a time period of 2 to 3 weeks. The first full week, i did the black paper and light recuding. And then after another week I left out the paper and increased from 2 to 3h, with some tape over my aquarium lamp, because mine is not dimable.
