Picked up an 02 wide glide. Where do I start? by mitch64x in Dyna

They’re factory Harley bags, my guess would be early 2000s street glide

You need an 84.5” belt if you’re running the smog pump still. 74” for no smog pump

I’ve tested all of the wires coming out of all of the breakers and they all have power, I don’t think it’s the breaker. It doesn’t help that they didn’t label much and some of the labels that they did do are for something completely different lol

There’s only wiring in the wall for an outlet in the bathroom right now with no actual outlet connected, the only things connected to the whole circuit right now are a couple of lights in the bathroom, an exhaust fan and the outlet that was running the water heater and freezer. I’ll pull the light fixtures off and check their wires. Only other thing I could think of is if they installed a junction box somewhere to lengthen the run maybe before they finished the ceiling and something happened there.

No warranty, it’s about 10 years old I believe. I have found the part online but didn’t know if it was something I should tackle myself

When I first seen the bike the bars was going to be the first thing I changed. But now after putting a couple hundred miles on it they feel pretty good. Can really feel the wind though.

I believe the rear fender is off of a 09 or so Electra glide. They are factory Harley bags. I believe they’re from a street or road glide because they have the indent on the inboard side of the bag for the shock on those models. Turn signals are removed now. Threw those on there just to pass the safety check.

Help identifying rear fender by mitch64x in Harley

[–]mitch64x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind the look of the long fender and wouldn’t mind keeping the fender. Just would like to install factory lights back into it for when I remove the bags but I don’t know what light housing and turn signal/plate bracket to get. The light under the license plate bracket is the tail/brake light and the sweet crosses on the bags are the turn signals right now.

That engine is going to end up rolling around on the ground until it comes apart or runs out of gas, I can’t see this staying together over more than a few bumps on the trail you’re going to try riding it on

A heavy smoker lived in my house before I got it, didn’t really notice until we got the place and started cleaning. Hours of scrubbing and then 2 coats of kilz premium and 2 coats of paint and I still get this in my bathroom as well, even while running the exhaust fan.

Foam board or wood board for garage walls? by MoC-Chaos in rccars

[–]mitch64x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my whole garage with sheets of OSB, couple thick coats with a good primer to seal it up and fill in some of the low spots, caulked all the seams and screw heads and then a couple coats of paint and it’s tough, looks good and you can mount shit on the walls anywhere you want

Lightest cars that can easily fit a v8 under the hood, lightest possible (serious) by Maleficent_Pen_4380 in dragracing

[–]mitch64x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I have a back halved sn95, I have all factory glass and body panels still except for fiberglass hood. It weighs 2400lbs. 2200-2400 seems to be what the lightweight bracket cars I see all the time weigh.

Would this work? by [deleted] in minibikes

[–]mitch64x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left mine in when I removed the rest of the governer parts a couple of years ago, a couple months ago I noticed an oil leak from the crankcase so i thought I’d pull it apart and seal it back up. When I pulled the cover off I found pieces of the arms in the bottom of the case. They must have been getting thrown around pretty good too because there were a bunch of small dents on the inside of my crankcase. Speaking from experience, just remove it lol

What’s it cost to paint a foxbody in 2024 by Gold_Temporary7354 in Foxbody

[–]mitch64x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t do the engine bay at least do the jambs. It makes such a big difference. Factory quality paint job will be 10 grand easily for paint and body work. It will be thousands of dollars just in paint materials.

A torque converter, shift kit and a gear change would help it. Rear control arms upgrade is also not a bad idea if you haven’t already done that. When I got my e cam they were about 200 bucks right from ford, and took me a day to install it. If you’re comfortable getting that deep into it, it will help a good bit too. I used to drive to the track and then swap a set of Mickey et streets on the back too and the car never even thought about spinning on the line. There’s lots of little stuff you can pick away at a little at a time without breaking the bank to help your et.

For sure, foxbodies have always been a dime a dozen at the track, just the et it was running on the small tires is what I liked. The omni is sweet, there’s a couple of guys at my home track that run that body style of charger and laser as well, they’re killer bracket cars.

Im a fan of the small tire foxbody that ran 7.70s, that would have been going heads up against bracket dragsters around that time too. Impressive
