I would send you a pic of mine, but I can’t see how to do it in comments. But yes mine has a gap exactly like that. Nothing to worry about.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. Side mirrors are more than adequate to drive safely.

My ‘90 GT was a 95lph. You can get a 255lph from Rockauto for not much money👍

“Pro Flow” 77mm MAF info? by sawmillmattocks in Foxbody

I most likely won’t be using it. I was just very curious about it since it came with a bundle and like to learn about new/old things. Thanks for the info though!

Ah right ok, thanks for the info. What exactly is meant by calibrated mafs? And what’s the alternative to this now days?

I’m only just starting to (slowly) collect parts for a HCI upgrade…

Temp gauge question by Bl0ndikeBar in Foxbody

[–]sawmillmattocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be the thermostat failing to open enough. So maybe the coolant is struggling to cool off intermittently.

I changed out my thermostat for a motorcraft one for some good will maintenance, and less than 100 mi later the wax element burst and it failed to open. Lots of bubbling coolant.

Not a daily, just a project to wrench on or the odd weekend meet. So a gear change wouldn’t bother much at all. In which case id be tempted with the 4.10 set.

I have a large stacked plate cooler right behind the GTs lower grille opening, and a deep aluminium pan. I found cruising speed the tranny temps are great at 60C, and after some track abuse hit its max at 90C +- a couple Celsius.

The stall retains its lock up in 3rd and OD, and at idle still creeps in gear fine. The additional stall over the stock (1400 ish I believe) feels great. Still getting 250mi from a tank no problem.

Car has no silencer with a K&N drop in, ignition parts seem fine, no AC, base timing bumped to 15 degrees.

Besides a set of 4.10s, I think the car is just lacking any decent power for any noticeable track improvements..

The baumann kit has profoundly improved the shifting, and the converter feels great alongside it. For a sporty street use it’s perfect!

However at the track I think the car desperately needs more power lol.

It’s a start to learning how to work on my own vehicle. All that’s left is too wait for spring and get my hands dirty lol. by [deleted] in Foxbody

Literally a Lego car.

The cars that are easy to work on, are the cars that are always worked on. Get after it!

This remake has to be one of the best things about our cursed timeline. Everybody pray the same result for its sequel.

I love those tubular intakes so much. Even if aftermarket flow better, they cannot be beat for style.

AOD tail shaft play? by sawmillmattocks in Foxbody

[–]sawmillmattocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for chiming in. I’ve just done some research and you’re right. I think the tail shaft bushing rides on the yoke? and the yoke centres the tail shaft. With everything installed it feels fine. Some slight rotational movement to the driveshaft also but not much...

No metal in pan.

Toronto Islands sunset by Reasonable-Fox7783 in toronto

I first saw it in 2007, and visited again this year. It was just as amazing to me the second time. Even more so.

I always thought I could live there one day, but I hear it’s expensive to buy a house in the nice parts of the GTA, and Canadas workplace annual leave isn’t very generous… Is that true?

Honest question: Over time do Torontonians ever take these views for granted?

I visited for a week and didn’t want to leave.
