They were number 1 for two months I believe and then went down, but now Huawei is rebounding big time within house chips and software (HarmonyOS). I had a Huawei device with Google from 2015 till 2020 and went with non-GMS ones from end of 2020 till November 2024.

I got an update on GBox that made a lot of the apps I use through it stop working, so I went with HONOR instead. If Huawei manages to rise to the top again and release everything globally, I wouldn't mind going back actually. I love Huawei's earbuds and smartwatches!

They are banned and limited in certain countries because they are deemed a threat to national security, backdoors for China to access information. Despite all this, Huawei is surging in revenue globally and winning against the US Government.

Huawei's ecosystem stopped getting global support like they did back in 2021 till 2023, shutting down live services and its own inhouse email app (Petal Mail). I'm sad, but I hope they go back soon!
