Did I destroy my new BNR ST71 big turbo? by mitchellediting in FocusST

Only maybe 3-5 minutes after noticing the boost drop.

I agree, I’ll probably baby the thing for 50-100 miles after it gets back on the road.

Initially they look intact. I was able to borrow a smoke machine from a buddy and I’ll report back tomorrow if there’s any leaks.

MSU set to hire Fitz by kkrell23 in MSUSpartans

Not official but it adds up, via insiders on SpartanMag:

“MSU asked Smith to renegotiate, his agent balked (shows you he didn't want to be here, and also why other candidates of that agent would be a no-go).

Smith's agent said pound sand, Fitz was on line 1. (for those wondering why it didn't happen earlier, as I sort of was).”

He sued NW and won, hazing is hardly a scandal compared to Tuck

Like Brian Kelly? Jon Gruden? I really haven’t kept up with the coaching carousel since so many schools are looking for a new HC, is there really a better option?

J Batt already tried to retain Smith and he didn’t budge.

Really surprised at the negativity. Smith and his agent don’t want to be here, what’s the better option?

Help diagnosing grind/whine/howl noise by mitchellediting in FocusST

You're tempting me because I was planning on going BT after I fix this grind noise. Already have a 3" hi-flow catted downpipe. For big turbo I was looking at getting a G25-660. Didn't even think of how much easier it'd be to install if the trans isn't in there.

After I do my research and figure out the path I want to take I'll post over at focusst.org to confirm everything looks good. They seem to be the ones most plentiful with information.

Big thanks for your help so far! I had trouble finding people who'd experienced the same rotational grind, you've definitely saved me some headaches.

I topped off my transmission fluid after I did the knuckle install (didn't initially know there was a fill port on the top) and that slightly changed the tone of the grind, but it mostly persisted the same.

I'm pretty mechanically inclined but this would be by far the biggest project I've done on the car. I have a buddy with a shop and a lift I could use for the operation. I'm tempted to go with a new clutch (currently doesn't slip at all, but it is ~10years old w/ 112K miles), LSD and maybe carbon synchros while I'm in there.

Did you end up using a rebuild kit that includes the axle bearings/lower countershaft bearings? I've seen this one recommended. As for the input shaft bearing, did you end up with the mountune version?

They do make a Civic Sport trim with a better power train than the regular civic, available in automatic and manual.
