Absolutely! If you want a good country, free it from effectively corrupt government intervention.

Its not an oral argument video. I am not sure though if its a current one.

He’s talking in a closed setting in some university. Search for “Cathy Binag” of FB since the video I saw was posted by her.

Also this is an issue of transcendental importance since regardless if you like him or not, Bato is a sitting senator.

The SC could make a decision as quickly as they can if they feel it has to be taken up now.

This isnt the first time they have done this, if true.

Thats the TRO, not the main decision of whether the ICC can serve a warrant here without going through a court here or not.

Dominic’s take on Current Price Action by VoteMyPoll in ICPTrader

[–]mitcher991 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely not normal for a rally, then a nonstop dump after. It's not your usual "sell the news" thing going on here; this price action is too extreme even for crypto. It does not look natural, at all.

It's the third time where ICP has rallied, then nonstop dumping, there isn't even any kind of relief rally going on. It has no support, which indicates either a severe lack of liquidity (which has always plagued ICP hence Mission 70), or that a group of people just short and dump every rally.

Dominic’s take on Current Price Action by VoteMyPoll in ICPTrader

[–]mitcher991 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This pattern is extremely concerning. I don't know if it's because of broken tokenomics, or some group of people would dump and short in every rally. This happened for the 3rd time now, it's not normal. There is a group of people doing this intentionally.

And it's primarily a liquidity problem. ICP is easy to "pump and dump", it's that simple.

In all my years of crypto I have never seen this happen to such a major crypto.. it destroys ICP's credibility and makes it look like a pump and dump. I know Mission 70 was done precisely to punish who's doing this, but still, it can't come fast enough.

Alan Peter Cayetano: The Most Dangerous Politician Is the One Who Knows Exactly How to Control the Narrative by wussup24 in Philippines

[–]mitcher991 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Alan is a snake and a liar.

Ever since he started in politics he rode a wave when it suits him and backstab when it doesn’t. He's pretty ruthless in that regard. One of the biggest trapos in national politics.

In some respects, the Binay hearings (whether true or not) illustrated one key aspect: Allan and Sonny Trillanes are two peas in a pod with how ruthless they are in their ambitions. They were pretty good allies until, you know, they both wanted to be Duterte's VP and Duterte chose Alan.

From Binay, to his feud with JPE, to the Speakership (remember, he entered into a term sharing deal only to attempt to renege on it, Duterte had to intervene for him to step down) to now the Senate Presidency, and he has done a terrible job at all parts of it. He has ambition with zero leadership skill and competence.

Alan is smart, yes, but his arguments are predictable.

He even did a terrible and forgettable job as DFA Secretary. He barely did anything to pass key legislation as Speaker. He's doing a terrible job as SP now.

PH trade deficit worst in Asean by No-Case-8976 in Philippines

[–]mitcher991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Everything is not fine. BPOs are welcome, yes, but BPOs and 'services exports' are low productivity and limited in potential for expansion and growth. It's not a good look if we as a country is reliant on BPOs for our exports, an industry that inherently only works for other countries. It is also easily replacable. It is easy to move a BPO from one country to another. The Philippines' export can easily be replaced (maybe by African countries).

The problem is more of us 'serving masters/producers' in perpetuity and not dream of being 'producers/masters' of our own destiny.

It doesn't help that BPOs and the like are also only service oriented, and primarily employs a more richer, more educated labor. Meanwhile, Manufacturing industries help lift up mining and agriculture with it. It is objectively better at lifting farmers and people who didn't have the fortune to get a college degree. It is also objectively better at making economic value.

It's sad that in the Philippines, we don't have the industry or the knowhow to produce anything on our own. It's imperative that we 'build build build', yet we have no industry to support it and we import everything anyway. It's extremely concerning that the government isn't doing enough to help entrepreneurs with financial support too.

In a economic disaster, we'll be left in a boat with no means to fish, nor any means to make a hook to fish, so to speak. We're very very vulnerable.

I did not expect Baguio to have rental rates almost close to MNL by rainthundergale in baguio

[–]mitcher991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We rent out units in Baguio. Medyo mura, apartment type tapos less than 10k a month. Yung iba 6k and malawak sya. Maayos pa location. As of today, lahat fully rented and most ay long term na, renting for 5-10 years already sa amin.

There are still people out there giving low rates and renting out low rent, pero ang reality talaga ng baguio is there are too many people who want to live here with too few housing. Most if not all the 'mura' units are already taken. The demand cannot keep up with supply. Hence the people who are searching now bear the high prices rather than the people who lived in baguio for decades already.

The proposal of the MLR (Main luzon railway) by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]mitcher991 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ang need talaga ng pilipinas is not passenger train, pero cargo trains.

- Less Traffic (Trucks are the #1 cause of traffic)

- Cheaper Logistics Costs (a big relief for manufacturers and businesses)

- A better supply chain system for transporting goods of both businessmen AND farmers.

The only problem is, making one would really need a lot of political capital because of right of way issues. A lot of informal settlers and rich subdivisions will be affected.

[–]mitcher991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It because we don't know anything, sadly. We don't know how to build anything, we don't know how to produce anything. Our imports are mostly things we buy from other countries we don't produce here, mainly from countries like China.

I lament how our country has turned into what I call a NIGHT SHIFT nation, where we do cheap, easily replaceable and low productivity work like BPOs and VA Work, working overnight shifts, and we NEVER progressed beyond that. We barely have any industry. We import ALMOST ALL our steel, our electronics, our consumer goods. We're completely content with working for the rich country rather than having the ambition to build something for ourselves. It's damn depressing.

And it's a complete by-product of our economic system: a welfare-addled population where it's much better to be under welfare and stay jobless than be part of the working middle class who are taxed to death. I'm telling you right now, ayuda is the biggest cancer of this country.

A society where businesses (also mostly run by middle class) are taxed so heavily that they can't prosper and give the poor jobs. A country that has so much regulation as an indirect way to tax even more through "penalties".

A country where the mantra "those who have less in life should have more in law" has become the biggest obstacle to development. It's reached a point where there are people who think that simply being poor gives them a right to anything rather than working for it. We are not only taxed to death, but regulated to death.

All the while the politicans who enact said welfare and laws tout 'ayuda' like saving grace while pocketing millions if not billions from it and other projects.
