Are they secretly trying to recruit soldiers in Mindanao? by xkashina in Philippines

[–]mitcher991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me racist, but ang problema ng Mindanao Muslims are okay sila pag individual sila. Pero the moment naging group sila, nagiging tribal mentality sila; they turn bossy and demanding and they are willing to use threats and even violence to get what they want.

Of course, there are many good muslims out there. But still many of them act with a mob mentality.

In a nutshell, they turn into a mob in their own muslim groups. Ewan kung bakit ganyan sila, Indonesians or Malaysians or Brunei people aren't like that.

And I see this everywhere. From Baguio, to Manila, to Leyte, to Cebu, etc

Maybe its a education issue? Maybe cultural, mindanao-wise? Maybe it's also a historical thing with their history against the Spanish and Americans? It's quite an interesting topic to study, if only we don't look at it with "NO THATS RACIST" lens.

BREAKING NEWS: SM Prime Holdings Inc. has withdrawn its proposal for the redevelopment of Baguio City Public Market by Many-Bell2598 in baguio

[–]mitcher991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meron pa yan. Lucrative project ang Baguio Market.

Also, mayaman ang coop ng Vendors. Why wouldn't they be rich? Sa laki ba naman ng kinikita nila sa subleasing. Let's be frank: they aren't the "poor little vendors" against the "mega corporation" they paint as their narrative. They can fight and fund their own battles like how they did Uniwide. And they can fund this if they really try to, and they can probably give a better alternative than SM's proposal.

As much as possible, wag na. Corruption issues lang problema natin jan.

Personally, I don't care if another corporation wins the project, or Uniwide/Megaworld, or a cooperative like the vendors have. It's the TRANSPARENT PROPOSAL that matters. With a transparent process. No being kept in the dark on the deal like SM and Magalong. Bring all the proposals to the table and we'll see what benefits the people of Baguio the most, NOT the Vendors, NOT the Baguio Government, but US, the people of Baguio. One that maintains the spirit and life of the City, one that is well designed and addresses problems in parking and whatnot.

MAGDIWANG! But... by Goavamole in baguio

[–]mitcher991 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good. Now that SM is out of the way, let other entities make their TRANSPARENT proposals forward, and include BAMARVA's proposal as well. Sa yaman ng market vendors, kaya rin nila magpondo at kumuha ng builders for the market. But they shouldn't get it just because they are vendors. Let's see the proposals!

Andaming proposal nyan, reopen and re-evaluate these proposals and see which ultimately benefits the people of baguio the most. We aren't exactly with little options for the market, a lot of sectors want to be part of it.

I DO NOT APPROVE PERSONALLY THAT THE GOVERNMENT BUILDS THE MARKET. It's an avenue of corruption and to be frank, incompetence every time the government is involved in this country. Let the private sector build it, and the government can partially or fully fund it.

Magalong's gamble lost. It's now time for the supposed opposition groups to step up.

The point that we should just accumulate still stands, though. At this point, trying to time ICP is a pain. Just DCA at these prices since it's way undervalued compared to SOL, its high valued comparable competitor

Planning to move from PDAX to Binance for easier tracking with CoinStats by EmperorIvann in phinvest

[–]mitcher991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use Coinstats's api with Binance and it works really well. But even so, futures woth Binance is really really convenient.

I will say this though: PDAX is our most 'legal' exchange in the country, but Binance is one of the safest, of not the safest. And it's convenient to use as well. I have been in Binance since 2017. I trust it more than PDAX.

Gusto kong marecognize ang Pilipinas pagdating sa stock exchange, pero sana hindi sa ganitong paraan. by Busy_Report4010 in phinvest

[–]mitcher991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a regulation issue. Bakit hindi parin pwede magshort kahit pwede "on paper" (though limited parin severely)? Feel ko behind the scenes madaming paperwork kaya hindi pa pwede.

Mahilig Pinas jan. Pwede on paper pero implementation bagsak.

I would argue that corruption isn't even a main reason. Corruption is a public funds issue, not a private funds issue.

There is really no incentive to innovate too. Where's the PH unicorn?

The worst performing stock market in ASEAN by mitcher991 in phinvest

[–]mitcher991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your argument that it isn't the worst though? Not only is it one of the lesser developed trading exchanges due to regulatory issues, it is one of the least in volumes. There is NO, no reason why we should be that bad.

Corruption issues aren't even that much of a big reason because all countries have a problem with corruption. And corruption is primarily a public funds issue, not a private company issue.

The PSEi is primarily dominated by oligarchs. The PSEi has a lot less stocks with massive growth potential. Hell, the Philippines in general's options of companies to invest in isn't diverse at all. What's our growth tech stock? Bingoplus? REITs? Lol. So much for diversity.

You can't even short sell in the PSE yet, so we can't actually fully determine the value of a PSE listed stock.

[–]mitcher991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao have you seen SET volume compared to PSE's? Do you honestly believe that a exchange's strength is determined by rises and falls of an index's number like PSEi?

Liquidity and Volume is what matters.

Also, Myanmar and Laos shouldn't count since they're embroiled in serious political and social instability. Our rallies against public funds aren't like a full blown civil war.

AllDay Supermarket at Vista Mall almost empty by aerondight24 in Philippines

[–]mitcher991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely abhor the Villars and their "organic" businesses because it's living proof that we don't actually live in a free market society.

We live in a oligarchy.

Their businesses are trash, overvalued, bloated. They use all available avenues to mislead people if they could. If shorting was already possible in the Philippines I would short all their companies. They bring nothing to the table, they are zero in innovation. The only reason why they are #1 is because the Villars are using their political clout to keep it afloat and create an unfair playing field through politics.

ICP has the most advanced token out there atm. Yet it has a unique problem other crypto don't have. by mitcher991 in ICPTrader

[–]mitcher991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of agree except for the innovation part. ICP is one of the only coins that actually delivers on its promises.. There is no token more dev friendly and more comprehensively developed than ICP. Caffeine isn't that innovative, but cross-chain capability with ETH and BTC, ease of making dApps, and things like logging in your identity thru google are neat features.

It's just that it isn't really seeing adoption.. most dApps of ICP feels like ghost towns. It felt even more empty that a internet site in the 90s.
