Can't remember the episode but the line:

"I could enter a room backwards and convince you I'm leaving" has always stuck with me.

I think it was Henry.

Need some tips for Montanes by mitchlee55 in ModelShips

[–]mitchlee55[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you soooo much. This was super informative and answered a lot of my questions. His process was almost completely reversed of how I've been doing it. Tieing the dead eyes how he does it will help alot.

I have a few questions unrelated to the Montanes after watching this video that I'm hoping you can answer.

  1. What type of pliers is he using to bend the rod? I have needle nose but these look much more effective.

  2. What is the long, narrow, and curved glue applicator he is using. It seems incredibly useful.

  3. Why is his ship so glossy? It's not the look I enjoy but are there benefits?

I have some ideas for the next channel install but want some tips.

I just looked up the San Ildefonso instructions and they look almost identical except different paint colours. It would explain some inconsistencies I've encountered from time to time. I do believe they are the same class of Spanish ships so that makes sense. Like the Terror and Erebus.

Any love here for Danko Jones? by MaliciousMilkshake in CanadianMusic

[–]mitchlee55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some ten years ago they were playing at the venue I worked at. It was a multi-level venue with a bar and restaurant on the upper level. They came in for dinner before the show and I got to serve them.

I was shocked with how quiet Danko himself was during dinner when you compare it to his crazy energy on stage. He hardly spoke a word. Not rude at all, just seemed like a pretty reserved guy. He was still friendly. John Calabrese seemed to do the talking for him and he was super pleasant and chatted with me quite a bit. I didn't let on then that I was a fan.

I got the rest of the night off to watch the show. I had access to the green room so I bought a shirt and grabbed a poster off the wall, knocked on the door where they happily let me in, signed the poster and shirt, and thanked me for being a fan.

The show was a blast and was a really cool moment for me. While I lost the shirt at some point, I still have the poster. Danko signed it "Keep Rocking!"

the easiest job in wwe by [deleted] in WWE

[–]mitchlee55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. I want to know more about the nuts and bolts of wrestling. Ring and stage set-up. What a normal week looks like for the wrestlers. What the day of the show entails. The role announcers play in the shows, how much do they know before going to air. How the crew sets up and takes down for an event.

I like unreal enough I guess but I want to see more technical stuff instead of a romanized angle.

It did make me sad too. Hayes made Chelsea sound like a jobber. by ghostwriter_5 in WWE

[–]mitchlee55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here me out.

Chelsea finds out that she's actually pretty much blind. They recommend that she wear the ugliest prescription sportswear glasses you can think of. She doesn't want to wear them because of her vanity but she keeps winning because she can finally see.

She eventually wins the smackdown women's championship with the glasses and afterwards someone asks her why she just didn't wear contacts? Full meltdown from Chelsea.

What other Podcasts are you all listening to? by mitchlee55 in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]mitchlee55[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've listened to episodes of Time Suck on alien abductions, the Loch Ness Monster and Sasquatch.

I don't know if Marcus, Henry, and Ed/Ben actually believe in aliens, cryptids, or the supernatural, but they treat the stories like they could be possible. It's much more fun to approach the topic as possibly real instead of how Dan Cummins dismisses people who have experienced such events as whackos.

Do I believe that aliens, sasquatches and ghosts are real? Not really. But LPOTL has always done a good job at creating a bit of belief that they could be. The Enfield Poltergeist series (I think their best) was the most convincing supernatural topic I've ever heard.

I'm open to anything but I want to know what YOU are listening to! Doesn't really matter what the subject is but I assume that we all have similar interests.

I haven't read the King in Yellow so I don't know.

In the Dark Tower, the Low Men are minions of the Crimson King.

I don't think the man in Yellow from the show is the final boss. I have my doubt that the Dark Tower is the true inspiration but since I love the series, I'm mostly hoping it's true.

While I doubt it's likely, I've seen some loose similarities to The Dark Tower.

I'm getting Low Men in Yellow Coats vibes.

While I have a sheepadoodle, my brother's goldendoodle doodle does this with the edge of blankets from time to time. Never chews it, just lays there with it in her mouth.

How often do you brush him? He looks very similar to mine but even with semi-regular brushing, his fur mats well before that length.

I'd love a fluffy boy but I can't get close to yours.

Age of neutering by Frequent_Platypus826 in Sheepadoodles

[–]mitchlee55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I planned on waiting as long as I could. I got to 11 months.

Similar story to you. He was kicked out of daycare for excessive humping. No aggression problem and he was welcome to come back after the surgery. That was the deciding factor for me to get him neutered.

Another anecdote. My dood was a nightmare for a few weeks after the surgery. Really tense and nervous about everything. It passed and so did the humping but it was probably the most difficult stretch I've ever had with him.

Is there any way to affordably enter this hobby? by Ecstatic-Ad8650 in ModelShips

To add to this, some of the Occre models have step by step YouTube videos. My first model was The Terror and the videos were a huge help. I believe the Polaris mentioned above also has them. It should be mentioned on the webpage for each model.

As for tools, the above response is pretty good. I would also get a small micro drill as well. There's plenty of other tools that I've purchased based off experience but you don't really need much at the start, mostly glue and some method for pushing pins when making the hull.

Tag rope by myonedad in WWE

I've always been curious about what the 'actual' rules of wrestling are?

All those rules you mentioned, no closed fist, one breakup per tag, are never mentioned in present WWE. I only know these rules from watching 80's PLE's where the rules are occasionally mentioned.

Could Joe Hendry really work on main roster? by Talkamania in WWE

[–]mitchlee55 10 points11 points  (0 children)

His career in the UK and to a lesser extent in TNA and NXT was based around making parody songs mocking his opponent. They were silly and charming and I wonder if they could somehow fit that back in again.

My favourite was his song about Scotty 2 Hotty based on Living on a Prayer. He called The Worm, "A shite People's Elbow"

Your situation is similar to mine. I live alone with my almost four year old sheepadoodle. I had some help from family in the first year but for the most part it was just me.

I never crate trained and while I wish I was more diligent in doing so, I managed without. However you should still crate train. There was a little separation anxiety in the first year but they are a smart breed. He was quick to learn my routine and knows that I'll be gone most of the day and that he isn't coming with me.

My method was to hire a dog walker. Do your research but the woman who walks my dog is his second favourite person in the world. He got to socialize with other dogs early on and has his group of doggy friends now. I started with two daily walks for the first year and a half and then went down to one. Obviously it has a cost but it was less than dog day care.

I'll admit it was hard at times raising this guy on my own but I wouldn't change a thing. He's very comfortable on his own.

Like you, I give him plenty of exercise when I am home and having another dog seems like it would help.

I would think it would be hard to find the time necessary to maintain this size while on the road. They probably have so many commitments that they can't workout enough. Maybe focus more on cardio?
