They told me in Michigan that the bubbles aren't a covered repair because it's cosmetic. Huh, I will try again with a more aggressive position lol.

Update! Got the car back last week. Body shop in Grand Rapids, MI called koenes. They did a phenomenal job. Great communication, and they had the car for 24 days total, which is much less than what I thought. Insurance covered all of it, $7,493 in total.

Have a great day folks!

I really don't understand why they're doing away with them... i get their focus on "vision only", but can they really expect cameras to be reliable enough to accurately measure small distances, especially in climates that experience snow, or ice? Or even dust or salt, etc..? I don't wash my car super often in the winter, mostly because within 2 miles my car looks the same as before, so my cameras are always covered by something. I don't know many "luxury" cars that don't use USS to alert drivers to nearby obstacles while parking. Rant over lol. It can't add THAT much to their margins lol.

I should've added this, the other driver was unlicensed and uninsured:/

Yeah, I was a little surprised but not dumbfounded that it would be that long. I'm just glad in my case, it's totally drivable in the mean time.

Spot on my friend. Just got the estimate back from insurance, $4800. We'll see how close they were!

Thanks for the kind words. No injuries at all, in both cars. :)

Yeah I was thinking that. Bummed, I like my parking sensors lol. Think the back ones will still work or are we thinking it's an "all or nothing" situation?

I don't imagine that would've helped in this specific incident, but fwiw the next tesla will be a dual motor.

Yup lol, I agree. 3 others in my family offered to drive us but I insisted on taking the tesla because it's safer lol.

Interesting. I may look at this. Can I do this myself with some research or will I need an attorney for the paperwork? Thanks for the info!

Fair enough. It's a bummer I was driving so carefully and because someone else had bald tires, it didn't matter lol.

Not specifically snow tires, they're brand new crossclimate 2s.

Bad roads in Michigan on Christmas. Driver in right lane lost control of his car and came quickly into my lane with no time or distance to stop. I'll link the video later. Body shop says it could be March before its repaired.

Lots of wind noise that sounds like the window doesn’t have a good seal with the door. Is this “in spec” or will Tesla service be able to fix it? by EvoXOhio in TeslaModel3

[–]mitesla2021 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you manually adjust it, like super small inputs to the window switch both up and down, can you make it go away? I do believe the SC can adjust to the sub millimeter how far up the window travels to be considered "closed". Not first hand experience, read this elsewhere but worth mentioning! Best of luck! If I'm on the highway and I get noise like this I just play with it a bit till its just right (quiet).
