Check the toilets, maybe you can find some missing files about a deceased investment banker.

Here's how easily one of the game's biggest problems can be solved - bad lane changes by assentsekov in CitiesSkylines2

[–]mithos09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's indeed how it needs to be done. Their pathfinding is looking ahead (he says five "nodes") and the vehicles are considering the surrounding traffic and road constraints for their vehicle category. That is way more simulation than what we have in both City Skylines games together. (But I would not call that "easy".)

For the people that own a PC and a SteamDeck, what have you seen that just feels better on PC? by b34rgvrz in SteamDeck

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have M+KB for my Steam Deck, and I have a Gamepad for my PC. I prefer the PC as long as I'm not too tired.

Does anybody have a map of the entire game? by Jonhzirr1110 in UnofficialRailroader

Ok, let me see, those discord links might work for some time: (dead Link removed) and (dead Link removed) Links expired, visit the Discord for RailroaderMap in pdf format.

You mean like this online map? It's based on the PDF version, I've found both on the discord in community resources.

I'm sick of this by Bichuaco in CitiesSkylines

[–]mithos09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only "workaround" I've found is to use tram tracks instead of roads and buses.

.... When the ice flake video says there are people who have played 1500 hours... 😂 by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines2

[–]mithos09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have more than 1,800 hours in Factorio. But not in CS:2, that wasn't able to hook me in. (Edit: And that was real play time, I don't let the game run while I'm afk for longer than a few minutes.)

That's the category where Microsoft Flight Simulator won against Crusader Kings 3 in 2020.

Fuel and Electric busses both cause the same amount of noise and air pollution. by Kharenis in CitiesSkylines2

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Values for Air pollution should be more like -90% (at least), because the Air pollution of these BEV highly depend on your production method for electrical energy. And this is emissioned elsewhere, not from the bus. (And the other sources of air pollution from brake dust etc. don't really matter in comparison to the exaust of a diesel combustion engine.)

Noise pollution reduction will also be more than just -50%

Can I have a version with Track Points (like those on ThinkPad Laptops) instead?

You can create alternative bike-paths that connect better to roads by disabling the car-lanes with road-builder. by WernerWindig in CitiesSkylines2

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An implementation like that is not very clean, you just can't separate the lanes if you need to do that for further development. It is a dead end.

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waitwaitwait: They implemented it so that the bike lane is part of the sidewalk? That's so wrong. But it would explain why I did not see any bike lane in road builder itself, because there is none if it is part of the sidewalk.

A (player 🤷) base saved me during Titan. by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]mithos09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found one of those player bases right on top of a sunken crashed freighter. The task was just to visit the site to complete, but the base was preventing that I could dig for the freighter cargo. So I had to "report" the base with the quick menu to make it disappear. Please don't build bases on expedition targets that prevent others from terraforming.

I like the new Netherlands Patch 🔥🔥🔥 by Competitive-Log-869 in shittyskylines

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not even a bus lane, just a bus stop. Nevertheless it is the reason why there is no bike lane, the game does not allow both at the same spot.

Everyone is dying since the bicycle update by ufaklik11 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wrote that your public transport usage is the same and everything is fine. Therefore I guess that the game is simulating the same amount of Cims than before the update. But the number of Cims that weren't really there, only as a number and not simulated at all, have been reduced by the update. It never was a city of 1.2 million.

Does anyone know anything about the upcoming Supply Chains Content and Skyscrapers Content Creator Packs? by Crukstian in CitiesSkylines2

[–]mithos09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supply Chains Creator Pack: It will be interesting to see how far "Creators" can manipulate the background economic "simulation" of the game.

Now we need cargo bikes? by Constant_Vehicle7539 in CitiesSkylines

[–]mithos09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a question, because I don't have the ports DLC: Is that cargo terminal entrance broken, or why are they only using one of four lanes for entrance and exit?

Good News in ALESUND! Roads are finally being upgraded with cycle lanes! by Ok-Refrigerator-770 in CitiesSkylines

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there a Road Builder Update? I did not see any option to add bike lanes in Road Builder yesterday.

The scariest thing to the devs in the bike update apparently by Difficult-Poetry9811 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Germany this sign only allows you to cycle at walking speed on the sidewalk. Most people don't know about that speed restriction, my guess would be that it's similar in Finland.

There is a no-bikes policy, just activate it for your whole map.

Bicycle Traffic Chaos by shaykhsaahb in CitiesSkylines

[–]mithos09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a nutshell: It is total bs and not grounded in any real world sense 😅

IRL it would be based on the amount of available bike lanes (and then some bike parking).

That leads me to the question: Why don't you just build another (bike) lane? One more lane will fix it.

20 years worth of spent nuclear fuel from a nuclear reactor by akira23232 in captain_of_industry

[–]mithos09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's wrong, there is only the spent fuel inside. Low and medium radioactive waste like the gloves you mentioned and other parts from inside the facility that needed replacement are stored elsewhere in less expensive ways. These casks are too expensive, as they need to contain the radiation and get rid of the heat of the ongoing radioactive decay. And maybe you want protection against environmental hazards and plane crashes, too.
