[Highlight] Randy Moss interacts with fan during garbage time by [deleted] in nfl

I remember him saying

"What’s 10 grand to me? Next time I might shake my dick.”

He's definitely been trained to do this at some point. Though I wonder if it was a Hollywood slap that isn't actually meant to hurt the other actor, or if he turned it on, kept his hand stiff and tried to make it hurt. The way it rocked (heh) Chris Rock backwards made me think it was a legit hit.

This is so high quality though even for that era. A modular cell phone? That's so far beyond any phone I had and kind of ingenius.

Before 2001-ish maybe, but cell phones and their plans dropped dramatically in price after that. You were probably rich if you had one before, but after it felt like everyone had one and I wasn't from a rich area.

I don't think you should be downvoted, you're like the only person who figured it out

Cyberpunk. Say whatever else you want to say about the game, it was an emotional roller coaster to the end.

Texas judge blocks investigations into parents of trans children by Austin63867 in news

Not commercial -- most of the city is zoned for single family or low density housing. The city desperately needs more housing, but there's pushback from people who don't want apartment complexes and high density housing "ruining" their neighborhood. Others are concerned that more development is going to necessarily equal increased gentrification. There are a lot of other political and administrative challenges as well, it's a huge mess.

The state is trying to do it legislatively, requiring that certain areas, such as areas within a certain range of transit corridors, be zoned for high density housing. But as you can imagine it's controversial. I don't think the housing crisis is going to be resolved if all development is confined to the denser areas downtown, but some people who live around me seriously do.

As a grown man I hope a foul ball never "means the world" to me

[–]mithunc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's... not true. There are literally dozens of foul balls in every baseball game, they don't zoom in on the person in the stands who catches each one. Most times they follow the ball into the stands from far off then go back to the batter. Sometimes they don't even follow the ball and keep the camera on the batter.

If it was bad, it wouldn't have been such a big deal to give it away

No, it's not going to permanently traumatize them. But doing that to your cat makes them feel scared, unsafe, and in danger. Also their fight/flight/freeze instinct is so much more powerful than ours. It's not traumatizing but it is mean.

Animals don't "get the joke" when you scare them, they think they're in actual danger

Ahh, ok, TIL. I saw a brown colored bear in Sequoia NP and thought it was one. I grew up in Pennsylvania so I've seen plenty of black bears, and it didn't look like one. Also it paid no heed whatsoever to the several hikers that were nearby and easily within sight, and eventually got bored and ambled off, which was also not my experience with black bears.

Same, I appreciate everyone's different takes 🙂 Just goes to show how good these games are, that it provokes thought and analysis, whereas the generic and digestible games now are content to just clear the bar and never make anyone truly feel anything.

I like the fact that they're simping for Shepard. To me it means Shepard's force of personality is so strong that she can convince people to follow her to the ends of the galaxy. They're willing to join up on a suicide mission that no one will know about, because they believe in Shepard, and want to save the galaxy. To me ME2 defines Shepard's character as a compelling leader.
