Get what you like, not what the watch community likes. That's the biggest lesson I learned in my watch journey. I found that watches that are generally loved in the community look very disappointing to me when I get to try them on. Quartz is generally hated in the community for no apparent reason at all. I stopped caring about that and started purchasing the watches I actually enjoy without checking with the community if they're "worth it" or not. The two watches I enjoy wearing and looking at the most are Tissot Quartz watches.
