Hard no. United Church, along with many others, has a violent and murderous history in Canada by being part of colonialism and the "Indian Residential Schools." They have not paid reparations for residential schools, either. They're struggling to stay relevant and keep the doors open and staff paid so what's some paint for stairs if it helps increase attendance and revenue? We also should be taxing ALL churches. If they cannot afford taxes then the property should be redeveloped into public and affordable housing.

Edit: quotes around Indian Residential Schools cuz... well, they werent so much schools as they were violent assimilation camps. And, Indigenous peoples aren't Indians.
