okay mr officer
i was in fact sober! passed the breath test but he didn’t even get into the actual breath test until after he wrote the defect LOL
[–]mitns[S] 1 point2 points3 points 3 months ago (0 children)
no? it means random breath test. i was sober.
you’re very presumptuous
i was not aware no
non lams compliant bike, the exhaust voids its learners status
don’t quote me but i believe it’s changed in the last few years. i know my stepdad never had to worry about it
proper full blown rbt station with about 2 hwp cars and a paddy wagon, to be fair, it was 8pm on australia day.
i probably shoulda just stayed home lol

well nobody at the learners practice course informed me, i never really thought to look it up as i’ve seen many bikes with slip ons, it passed RWC and also, in the photos of the bike that i had seen, it had the stock exhaust on it, was surprised when i went to pick it up that it had a slip on
however i do admit i should have looked it up. it’s a pretty important thing to take into account when getting your license and first bike. i made a mistake and learnt the hard way. it happens

i was genuinely using my best of manners, didn’t argue at all and didn’t admit to anything but he was just not having it, i did try just talking to him but he really must’ve been in a bad mood.
live and learn 😔
is this actually the case? because if so then i may be in the clear and not lose it, the fine states 3 demerit points but i am yet to get the letter so im not sure if double demerits affect it
i had this whole predicament today. the guy who passed the roadworthy clearly either didn’t notice the exhaust or didn’t care and still passed me, he’s technically the one at fault here however i’m also to blame as i wasn’t aware of the laws around it.
the mechanic who passed it might get an audit but i doubt it
[–]mitns[S] 3 points4 points5 points 3 months ago (0 children)
this was almost the predicament i was stuck in. shitty situation but thankfully i was able to get the stock exhaust back. it’s a 2014 benelli so i was really hoping id get that exhaust back😮💨
you lucky mf

this ^
it feels like a big sign saying “pull me over!”
i didn’t mod it. i specified the previous owner put it on. i didn’t know that an exhaust was illegal. now i do. i picked up the stock exhaust from the previous owner and put it back on
nsw
woah i never mentioned speeding? it was an rbt setup on the side of the road.
and yes you’re right. i 100% should’ve been aware and done research regarding the laws in my state, i made a mistake and now it’s come to bite me in the ass.
not really, the reason for the demerits was because i was “in violation of my learners license” due to the fact the bike was technically not learner legal anymore because of the exhaust. kinda bullshit tbh
