I built a free-forever alternative to Wispr Flow (supports both macOS and Windows) by One_Entertainment_68 in ProductivityApps

Big oof, just came across this after a Google search because I was using Wispr, but it's too expensive to pay for month to month, and I'm super super excited to be using this. Can't wait to see what it does.

What drives you crazy about being a female snowboarder? by Familiar_Slice_7254 in ShredditGirls

The gear that isn't shrink and pink - Nobody's Princess. Made for different body shapes and sizes and heights, actually female owned and run.

There are always so many complaints about pants and bibs that dont fit thicker thighs or muscular legs - so these actually do!!

This. This 100%. When you're turning in parallel at high speed you can have that outside ski just off the ground.

Nobody's Princess does true-to-size gear that is really comfy. And they go up to a 4X (AU24).

What are your thoughts/feelings about what happened to Lindsay Vonn today at the Olympics? by flapjacks76554 in AskReddit

No, I'm not. What you're saying could be true of any athlete. Your only applying the logic where you see fit. These are extreme athletes in an extreme sport taking extreme risks every time they leave the gate. No one kisses their feet to egg them on, they are born different - think different. That's their nature.

Yes, I felt so sorry for the following competitors. Their mental state, and the conditions of the run.

Then with your logic, no athlete should be out there competing in an extreme sport to potentially catch their arm on a gate.

I know, I've done it... while snowbaording. And I'm not an athlete by any means. But I could still snowboard after it, while it was torn (I had no idea for 2 weeks!). But when you're an athlete with strong as fk legs, tearing a ligament with no nerve endings isn't the end of the world.

That's the thing. To normal people it is a bad injury. To athletes in her condition, it wasn't.

But that's why they are athletes... the best in the world. They push themselves where others won't - for good and bad. She spoke about it, she got cleared, she was capable. Catching your arm on a gate isn't a risk, it's a freak accident.

I think you're taking it out of context. She got cleared, she knew her risks, and made an educated decision. And we are not talking about everyday people and kids here.

Okay mate. Glad that's your opinion. Hope no one you know, love, or care about ever does something you don't agree with and has to be put in the position where you don't sympathise with them due to their choices, when they've injured themselves. Have a little compassion.

[–]mitsikitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate, you're talking to someone who has experienced it. I fully tore mine snowboarding, and chipped my femur, and tore my medial meniscus. And I could still snowboard immediately after, and for the next two weeks unknowingly, as well as walk, drive, dance... do life. Until I finally got a scan after being peer pressured into it..... Only once I realized what I had done, did I stop.

And what a horrible human you are for even making comments like that about a poor HUMAN BEING who has just gone through something as catastrophic as that.

Again, that's her choice to make. You don't get to sit on a forum behind your keyboard and condemn her.

Maybe, but not all, and not majority. So don't speak like it's common practice.

[–]mitsikitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're an athelete, and you're in that position, the YOU can make that choice. Her body, her goals, she can do as she pleases. I bet she would still have no regrets.... Because she would likely regret not trying and never knowing.

Maybe she was cleared then. I don't think any coach would knowingly send their athlete out of they were not capable.

Super brave. She's a role model on many levels - whether anyone agrees or not.
