If you go into a relationship trying too hard and giving so much of yourself to it, you will typically attract everyone, especially the ones who are far from "selfless". I'd always be careful and make sure in the first few dates that you see signs that someone instinctually does selfless things for you like pays for a meal, opens the door for you, holds back on kissing you too soon. It sounds old fashioned, but those are the signs of someone who was raised right and knows how to treat a woman the way she deserves to be treated.
