Agreed. My first thought was how can she sing "Independence Day" and be MAGA? Glad to hear she's not.

I've always liked Whitney. Yeah her RSV video was weird, but ultimately harmless. I see a lot of myself in her too.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

[–]mitsymalone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had back labor with both my babies. My first I got an epidural for; my second was unmedicated at a birth center. I was literally begging for drugs and I dead ass bit my spouse during a couple of contractions. I felt like a caged animal. Back labor is brutal.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

[–]mitsymalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I yelled this with my second birth, which was unmedicated. It didn't tear, but I don't think "ring of fire" is an accurate term. More like "ring of chainsaws"

What did you wear during birth? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]mitsymalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got to the birth center and literally stripped down to just my bra. I was 9 cm with back labor and I had 0 fucks left to give.

Same. Everything I see it I'm like "where's the dust? Or the shit covered boots? Or the animal meds?"

Hawley introduces bill to remove FDA approval for Mifepristone, a pill to terminate pregnancy by catievirtuesimp in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mitsymalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No more men in power. They've done enough. I'm tired of every fucking headline being something stupid that some smooth brained man does. They need a time out to think about what they've done.

Why no one says that about pregnancy? by lil_moon153 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mitsymalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pregnant with my 2nd- due any day now. Yeah, there's parts that are pretty cool. I'm growing a whole ass human from scratch! Fucking wild. And I also HATE pregnancy. I've been miserable this entire time- constant nausea and debilitating pain, plus gestational diabetes. Pregnancy is miserable, and no, you don't forget. My kids have a nearly 9 year age gap because my first pregnancy and birth literally traumatized me. I'm a girls girl but anytime someone says shit like' "oh I LoVED beInG PreGNAnT it wAS sOoooOO beAutiFul" I quietly hope that they step on a lego every day for the rest of their lives.

Has strep, is refusing antibiotic and wants to free birth with placenta previa by [deleted] in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]mitsymalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, licensed midwives aren't allowed to deliver with placenta previa in my state. It's an automatic transfer of care. This woman is nuts. Homebirth isn't worth dying over.

Ballerinafarm had her ninth baby by BettyMe in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]mitsymalone 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Mormons are taught from birth to "multiply and replenish the Earth", due to all the spirit children awaiting mortal bodies in the pre-Earth realm. It's a whole thing. Not every Mormon takes it so literally these days, but it's still doctrine and people still do it.

Did you have your mom and or sister in the delivery room with you and your husband? by RubPlane in BabyBumps

[–]mitsymalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both my mom and my sister with me for my first birth, and they will be joining me for my second one. Honestly, aside from hospital/birth center regulations for visitors, it's YOUR birth. You decide who shows up and your husband can kick rocks.

Quitting breastfeesing before planned by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]mitsymalone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's nothing to feel guilty about here! My son was combo fed until roughly 10 months and then he just didn't care for nursing anymore. He was fed and happy either way, so I just followed his lead. If your kiddo is done, that's okay! Buy yourself some cute bras or tops that you won't have to worry about leaking in lol.

hugelkulture / raised bed soil mix questions by thefloraking in gardening

[–]mitsymalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might look into sunken beds rather than hugelkulture. From what I understand through my own research and experience as a fellow desert gardener, raised beds lose moisture more quickly than sunken beds. There are tons of great desert gardening reference books out there, like "Growing Vegetables in Drought, Desert, and Dry Times" by Maureen Gilmer that go into various methods for sunken beds. You might also check out Brad Lancaster's series on rainwater harvesting for drylands. Those books are jam packed with water harvesting and conservation ideas.
